Five Planets in Scorpio

The Saturn/Neptune opposition is in full swing this fall after influencing things from the sidelines for over a whole year now. Last winter the dominant astrological influence was a grand square formed by Jupiter/Mars and Saturn/Neptune (four planets at 90 degree angles from each other). Mars was in Taurus then and squared Saturn three times between August 05 and Jan 06. Many will remember the difficulties they faced at that time.

Now Mars has moved halfway around the zodiac and will be in Scorpio (the opposite sign from Taurus) from 10/23/06 until 12/5/06. Last year's grand square has become a t-square. The Saturn/Neptune opposition is at it's peak and both planets are squaring Jupiter, Mars and the other planets (Mercury, Venus and the Sun) as they move through Scorpio in the next couple of months. We are dealing with many of the same issues that were plaguing us last year. The situation has progressed but the underlying themes are the same.

The effect of having 5 planets in passionate Scorpio for over a month should be rather overwhelming, like dealing with the force of an emotional tsunami. People are not entirely rational now and some are being entirely swept away by the power of their emotions. There'll be no reasoning with them. You can appeal to their feelings or manipulate them but rational argument will be as futile as shouting into a hurricane.

All this Scorpio influence will certainly spark our sexual energy and many new relationships will start at this time. Desire and intrigue abound. Jupiter in Scorpio is very passionate but Saturn in Leo craves position and respect. This creates a conflict that can lead to all kinds of secret situations and liasons. For some this will mark the beginning of a grand passion. This can be a very creative time, our sexual fire is also our creative fire, its the same energy with a different focus.
