Last week was relatively quiet. This week is a bit of a rollercoaster
ride, up one day, down the next. There are 11 major aspects, most
involving either the Sun or Venus. At first glance this looks like
fun but Venus is making a grand square with Saturn, Uranus and Pluto.
Poor Venus can't stand up against these bullies and is taking a
major hit. Venus represents the feminine, the natural world and
the arts.
Monday
5/17
- Venus
squares Jupiter (4:57 AM). The happy predictions one would usually
make for any Venus/Jupiter contact are tempered by tomorrow's
Venus/Saturn alignment which is exactly the opposite, so
things are rather bittersweet.
Venus/Jupiter may manifest as an urge to go power shopping.
This compulsive spending is driven by feelings of sadness or discontent.
Venus/Jupiter wants to be positive and projects a happy face
while disguising underlying depression or distress.
The
Sun sextile Jupiter (6:41 PM) may tip this day into a genuine
buoyancy of spirit. This week is deceptive though. Don't be fooled
into over-extending yourself until you see what the rest of the
week may bring. The Sun/Jupiter sextile does make this a
good time to move ahead with plans that have been in the works this
last couple of months and energy levels are strong now.
Tuesday
5/18
- Venus
squares Saturn (2:18 AM) while we sleep, subliminally effecting
both yesterday and today. People need extra demonstrations of love
and support now. Venus/Saturn often brings harsh circumstances
and limitations into our lives. Try and avoid the self pity that
focusing solely on one's self brings. Step outside of yourself and
try to see things from a broader perspective. Others are also having
a hard time now.
The Cancer Moon trines Jupiter (10:11 AM), so last night's cares
and anxieties are swept under the rug for the time being. This morning
is harmonious and people make an effort to be considerate and supportive.
The
pace picks up when the Moon trines dynamic Uranus (2:35 PM). It's
an interesting and enthusiastic afternoon.
The Moon moves into Leo at 3:06 PM.
Venus trine Neptune (4:14 PM) evokes a sympathetic and caring
mood. Appreciation of the arts and natural beauty is enhanced.
Sun trine Saturn (6:28 PM) adds discipline, endurance and
focus to the mix.
Wednesday
5/19
- Sun
square Neptune (12:16 AM) is dreamy, imaginative and unmotivated.
Energy levels are low and people will prefer to take it easy today.
Mercury trine Pluto (12:44 PM) is the third of three passes
that started back in the beginning of April. Presumably, we've now
reached a conclusion on whatever we've been contemplating all this
time and are ready to make a decision.
Venus square Uranus (1:42 PM) is an exciting, possibly disruptive,
influence. Venus/Uranus is bold and daring and wants to break
free from restrictive circumstances.
Venus enters Cancer (7:05 PM).
Thursday
5/20
- Yesterday's
dreamy mood continues today as the Moon opposes Neptune at 3:44
PM. People would prefer to blow off any responsibilities in favor
of a play day. The Sun sextiles Uranus (3:46 PM) reinforcing
yesterday's Venus/Uranus desire to do your own thing. Self
expression and independence are highlighted.
The
Moon moves into Virgo at 5:58 PM.
A
pleasant evening is enhanced by the Moon's sextile to Venus in Cancer
(8:05 PM), creating a quiet and homey mood. People would rather
invite friends over rather than go out.
The
Sun enters Gemini (9:34 PM).
Friday
5/21
-
The
dust is beginning to settle after a very busy and rather conflicted
week. The Virgo Moon trines Pluto (2:21 AM) and Mercury (4:09 AM)
while we sleep so recent resolutions settle deeply into the subconscious
during the night.
Saturday
5/22
- The Virgo Moon opposes Jupiter (5:09 PM) and conjuncts Saturn
(5:14 PM) triggering this evening's Jupiter/Saturn opposition.
Uranus is in the mix here too (Moon opposition Uranus at 8:33 PM).
Think of Jupiter and Uranus as a unit now as they will soon be conjunct
(6/08/10) and are acting together. Jupiter greatly expands Uranus'
need for freedom and autonomy. This is a very radical and impetuous
influence (think Tea-Party as one example).
This
afternoon's Moon/Saturn conjunction is low energy and depressive
as we contemplate our limitations. The opposition to Jupiter and
Uranus heightens our level of frustration.
The
Moon enters Libra at 8:50 PM.
Jupiter
opposition Saturn (11:36 PM) is the most important aspect of
the week. Jupiter opposes Saturn once about every seven years
and will make the usual three passes (5/21/10, 8/16/10 & 3/28/11).
Jupiter, the principle of expansion, opposes Saturn, the principle
of contraction, creating somewhat of a deadlock or stand-off. This
can indicate a period of balance between our desire to expand and
the practical, cautious approach that Saturn represents or the Saturn
influence may make us overly cautious and afraid, frustrating Jupiter's
call toward greener pastures. Personally, where the balance will
fall depends on whether we tend to be more Jupiterian (expansive)
or Saturnian (conservative) .
Sunday
5/23
-
More intensity today as Venus opposes Pluto (9:14 PM). Deep
damage can be done under this line-up (Gulf Coast?? Aaaah!). Individually
the desire to break free from restriction (Jupiter/Uranus) may cause
many to take a slash and burn approach to making changes. Relationships
and other responsibilities may be jettisoned in a rush toward freedom.
There is a finality to these decisions so think twice.

All times are MDT (Mountain Daylight Time). For EDT (Eastern Daylight
Time) add two hours. All aspects in bold are major
influences that are in effect for several days. The Moon's daily
aspects are rapidly shifting influences that are in effect for only
a few hours.
