 Mon May 4th - Sun May 10th

Monday 5/04 - The Virgo Moon conjuncted Saturn (1:08 AM) during the middle of the night, depressing energy levels and creating that tired feeling. This may still be affecting the mood this morning, making for a slow start.

People are feeling revitalized tonight though as the Moon opposes electric Uranus (7:31 PM). Time for a little excitement, recreation, a change of scene. Get out and have some fun.

Tuesday 5/05 - The Sun trines Saturn (3:34 AM) in the early hours before dawn. This has a slow, steady, stabilizing effect on the day, making it easier to buckle down and get focused on the work at hand.

The Moon enters Libra at 3:51 AM. The Libra Moon trines Mercury in Gemini (6:47 AM) this morning so there is a flurry of early morning phone calls and email. Everyone wants to chat. Brains are buzzing with ideas and information.

Things get a little moody around 9:30 AM when the Moon squares Pluto. The lines of communication shut down as people are more inwardly focused and not really hearing what is being said. Best to work independently for a while. People can be overly pushy and super sensitive right now.

The mood changes around midday. Romance is in the air this afternoon and evening as the Libra Moon opposes Venus (12:20 AM) and Mars (10:54 PM) in Aries. Moon/Venus is pleasant and likes to luxuriate. Treat yourself to a little something special. Have lunch with a friend or do a little shopping. This is a good moment to find that Mother's Day gift.

Tonight's Moon/Mars is passionate and desire driven. People want what they want and they want it now.

Wednesday 5/06 - The Moon makes no major aspects today.

Mercury goes retrograde (11:01 PM) tonight. It will be in retrograde until May 30th. This backward movement will take Mercury back and forth over its recent squares to Jupiter and Neptune in Aquarius, emphasizing the dreamlike, idyllic, spaced-out tone that Jupiter/Neptune evokes, the Mind of No-Mind.

After midnight, the Moon trines Jupiter in Aquarius (12:56 AM) so the mood is mellow and friendly. Sleep and dreams are especially nourishing tonight.

Thursday 5/07 - The effect of an early Moon/Neptune trine (4:01 AM) encourages lingering in dreamland. Waking up slowly makes it easier to remember last night's dreams.

The Moon moves into Scorpio at 10:48 AM.

By mid afternoon, the day finally comes into focus as the Moon sextiles Pluto in Capricorn (4:26 PM) so something does get accomplished today, after all.

Friday 5/08 - The day is relatively quiet and rather dull for a Full Moon. A Moon/Saturn sextile (2:58 PM) has people focused on work, trying to catch up with themselves before the workweek is over.

The Moon will be Full tonight at 10:01 PM in 18Ò Scorpio. Tomorrow will probably feel more like the Full Moon than today did because on Saturday the Moon makes a series of aspects that are intrinsic to this Full Moon's energy.

Saturday 5/09 - This looks like a very enjoyable weekend. Even if you have a busy schedule, try to make some free time to get out and play.

There's a lazy mood this morning as the day begins with a Moon/Jupiter square (10:02 AM). The debate is whether to enjoy some quiet time at home or get out and socialize. You can manage both today, so take it slow to start off with.

The day changes gear when the Moon trines Uranus (11:12 AM) a little later on and a pleasant restlessness makes it time to head out for a bit of diversion. That little burst of energy is short-lived though because by 12:49 PM a Moon/Neptune square quiets things down and a nap seems like just the ticket. Moon/Neptune can also bring out a craving for a little hydro-therapy, like sitting by the river or taking a good soak.

The Moon enters Sag at 7:49 PM and the energy shifts from Scorpio's desire for privacy to the Sagittarius desire to party. Tonight is busy. There's a lot going on so there's plenty to chose from. A Moon/Mercury opposition (10:30 PM) encourages socializing. There's a lot of mental energy here, driving to the urge to talk, communicate, socialize, get out and about. It's hard to sleep when your brain is this busy.

Sunday 5/10 - Happy Mother's Day. It's a romantic day. If you don't have a sweetheart you'll probably at least be thinking about it. That special something is in the air. It must be phermones. Maybe you're in love with spring, with life, with that particular blue of the sky or Mother Nature's prolific burst of floral abundance. Get out and honor your Mother.

The Sagittarius Moon trines Venus in Aries (10:50 AM) so the mood is happy, upbeat, adventurous. Celebrations may be a bit different this year as Mom opts for something new. It's a particularly lovely and loving day.

The Moon trines Mars tonight (11:59 PM) so the energy is going strong late into the evening. Maybe Mom decided to dance the night away or head out for a mini-vacation. Too bad the weekend is over, but it sure was fun.

* All times are MDT (Mountain Daylight Time). For EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) add two hours. All aspects in bold are major influences that are in effect for several days. The Moon's daily aspects are rapidly shifting influences that are in effect for only a few hours.

  Mon May 11th - Sun May 17th

Monday 5/11 - Most of the action for Monday is happening tonight. The day is rather slow and uneventful after getting of to a somewhat groggy start, thanks to a late night Moon/Saturn square (1:06 AM).

The Sagittarius Moon sextiles Jupiter tonight (9:33 PM) so the mood is mellow but the energy level is high. A Moon/Uranus square (10:24 PM) makes this as busy as a Saturday night. People are up and active until almost midnight, then a soothing Moon/Neptune sextile (11:56 PM) finally calms things down.

Tuesday 5/12 - The Moon enters Capricorn at 7:09 AM and conjuncts Pluto in the early afternoon (1:04 PM) so people are intense but not very communicative. It's best to work alone and save the phone calls and outreach for another day.

Wednesday 5/13 - It's another quiet morning, though things are flowing a little better today. It's all about taking care of business (Moon trine Saturn at 1:20 PM).

People do get rather snappish in the late afternoon when the Moon squares Mars in Aries (4:24 PM). It's easy to feel frustrated, irritated and impatient. If things aren't happening fast enough, tempers will flare.

Retrograde Mercury moves back into Taurus at 5:54 PM.

Thursday 5/14 - This week finally picks up some steam. A Sun/Moon trine (7:35 AM) gets the day off to a harmonious start. We are still in a practical, industrious mode as the signs involved are Taurus and Capricorn. By late morning a more lively and vivacious tone sets in when the Moon sextiles Uranus (11:20 AM). It's time for a change of pace, a little diversion. People are finally ready to do a bit of socializing. Make the calls and answer the emails that have been on hold all week long.

People are in the mood to chat, visit or discuss the week's events this evening (Cap Moon trine Mercury in Taurus at 6:58 PM). It may be hard to get your mind off of work, as you spend the evening mulling things over.

The Moon enters Aquarius at 8:01 PM.

Friday 5/15 - The energy has definitely shifted. If people can take off early for the weekend they will. The mood is friendly and a bit lazy. The day is spent in anticipation of a relaxing and entertaining evening. A Moon sextile to Venus (7:17 PM) should make this a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Saturday 5/16 - It's a lovely weekend. The Sun triggers the upcoming Jupiter/Neptune conjunction in a big way as it will be squaring Jupiter at 2:46 AM and Neptune later tonight (11:06 PM). You'll be able to observe the kind of effect Jupiter/Neptune is having on you personally as well as on the people around you. This can range from tuning into an almost super-natural beauty in the world around you to being particularly spaced out and forgetful, from a marvelous lucky break to allowing yourself to be taken advantage of. Don't sweat the details, get out and enjoy.

On top of everything else that is going on, the Sun sextiles Uranus (7:09 AM) this morning so there's a great desire to get out and away from it all. Take a drive or take off for a weekend excursion, as long as all that Neptune influence hasn't conjured up some wet weather, otherwise you may be out singing in the rain. The Aquarius Moon sextiles Mars (9:25 AM) adding to the morning's exuberance and high energy.

Saturn goes direct at 14° Virgo (8:07 PM) so, as it slowly gathers momentum, the planet of obstacles and limitation will finally be moving away from the middle degrees of Virgo, much to the relief of those with planets in the mid degrees of the mutable signs (Virgo, Pisces, Gemini and Sag).

Look for tonight's Moon/Jupiter conjunction (11:47 PM), that's the bright "star" visible close by the Moon. It's a great night, lots of fun. After a wonderful day, the Moon/Jupiter conjunction is the icing on the cake.

Just after midnight (12:16 AM) the Moon meets up with Neptune. This may simply translate into a good night's sleep, some amazing dreams or dramatically altered consciousness (anywhere from mystical perception to getting really plowed).

Sunday 5/17 - The Moon enters Pisces at 8:17 AM. It's a pleasant but relatively quiet day, not surprising after yesterday's energy extravaganza. The Moon sextiles Pluto (1:52 PM) this afternoon creating a inwardly focused, reflective mood.

* All times are MDT (Mountain Daylight Time). For EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) add two hours. All aspects in bold are major influences that are in effect for several days. The Moon's daily aspects are rapidly shifting influences that are in effect for only a few hours.

 Mon May 18th - Sun May 24th

Monday 5/18 - This morning's Sun/Mercury conjunction (4:03 AM) is a very mental, cerebral type of alignment but, because of Mercury's upcoming square to Jupiter and Neptune (5/20), everyone is in a somewhat altered state of awareness this week. Distracted, forgetful or fantastical, our perceptions are slightly skewed. You'll get the best out of this week if you're in a position to just drift along in a dream, rose-colored glasses firmly in place. Turn off the TV and the radio news and tune into another realm where everything really is just fine. Take a vacation from reality.

Reality does intrude around midday when the Pisces Moon opposes Saturn (1:13 PM). Energy levels are low so nurture yourself and don't push too hard, though the day does seem to require some plodding.

Tuesday 5/19 - There's an electric intensity mid morning when the Moon conjuncts Uranus (9:55 AM). Things are moving at a rapid pace and tempers are short. Moon/Uranus can be accident prone, especially when Mercury/Jupiter/Neptune has everyone rather spaced out to begin with.

People are eager to communicate and there's an urgency to handle certain business matters now (Moon sextile Mercury at 11:39 AM) but, if you can't connect, don't force it. Things may change by the end of the week so maybe you really don't want to make those decisions today. It's easy to get your wires crossed this week. The afternoon is pleasant and harmonious as the Pisces Moon sextiles the Taurus Sun (3:43 PM).

The Moon enters Aries at (5:30 PM).

The mood is rather tense and edgy tonight when the Moon squares Pluto (10:38 PM), making this a good evening to hole up and treat yourself to a little quiet time.

Wednesday 5/20 - There's a lot of planetary activity today, most of it echoing last Saturday's line-up. Mercury squares Neptune (3:21 AM) and Jupiter (9:45 PM), even including the sextile to Uranus (12:46 AM), so Mercury is extending the mood that started late last week when the Sun triggered these same alignments. This can be very artful, imaginative and creative but also quite absent-minded, a rather happy dementia.

The Sun enters Gemini (3:51 PM).

Tonight the Moon conjuncts Venus in Aries (9:23 PM) so many will be in the mood to go out and play. It will be a lively evening and lots of fun. Get out and shake a leg.

Thursday 5/21 - Despite a busy night the day gets off to rapid start as the Aries Moon conjuncts Mars (9:22 AM). Watch out for hot tempers and sharp claws. The temperature could be very hot today as the thermometer soars into summertime.

Things calm down and get positively jovial this afternoon when the Moon sextiles Jupiter (3:56 PM) and Neptune (4:36 PM). After an intense morning, people will want to call it a day a little early and head into another enjoyable, though more relaxing, evening.

The Moon moves into Taurus tonight at 10:40 PM.

Friday 5/22 - Over the course of the day the Taurus Moon makes a grand trine with Pluto in Capricorn (3:22 AM) and Saturn in Virgo (11:50 PM). It's an industrious, businesslike day. People are focused on accomplishment and efficiency and a lot gets done.

Saturday 5/23 - It's an active, interesting day. The Taurus Moon triggers this week's Mercury line-up as it conjuncts Mercury this afternoon (3:47 PM) and squares Jupiter (6:25 PM) and Neptune (6:49 PM) later on. The evening is relaxed and mellow. People aren't very motivated and just want to take it easy and enjoy.

Sunday 5/24 - The Moon is New in 3° Gemini at (6:11 AM). Like everything else that is going on right now, the New Moon accents the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction. Irrational euphoria, though pleasant in our personal lives, is quite another thing when applied to Wall Street or business in general. Take a very conservative approach to planning investments and expenditures in general. The recession has yet to make its full force felt. The Jupiter/Neptune influence this summer is a welcome relief but can lead to serious miscalculations if wrongly interpreted.

The Moon squares Saturn after midnight (12:47 AM) so the whole evening is pretty low energy. This is definitely not a party night. Stay home and get to bed early .

* All times are MDT (Mountain Daylight Time). For EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) add two hours. All aspects in bold are major influences that are in effect for several days. The Moon's daily aspects are rapidly shifting influences that are in effect for only a few hours.

 Mon May 25th - Sun May 31st

Monday 5/25 - Memorial Day. It's a lovely morning. There's a warm and friendly feeling as the Gemini Moon sextiles Venus (7:32 AM) and Mars (5:50 PM). Get out early to enjoy the best of this day. Things get hectic later on as the Moon moves into a square to Uranus (6:41 PM). Expect traffic jams and last minute glitches. But things mellow out shortly afterwards when the Moon trines Jupiter (7:07 PM) and Neptune (7:18 PM) and tranquility is restored.

Tuesday 5/26 - The Moon enters Cancer at 12:58 AM this morning.

The early morning hours are a bit moody as the Cancer Moon opposes Pluto (5:15 AM). Take it slow and give people lots of space.

There's a burst of positive energy this evening as Mars sextiles Jupiter (9:20 PM) and Neptune (10:39 PM) activating the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction that, on its own, can be a very passive alignment. Mars spurs us to act on our ideals and take steps to manifest our dreams and ideals.

Wednesday 5/27 - It's a lazy morning with a Moon/Venus square (11:03 AM) encouraging people to take a leisurely, luxurious approach.

Today Jupiter makes its first conjunction to Neptune (2:12 PM). This conjunction will be in effect for over 8 weeks as Jupiter and Neptune are traveling within one degree of each other from May 14th until July 11th . We've already been experiencing the full effect of Jupiter/Neptune for the past two weeks. For more on Jupiter/Neptune, read my recent articles on this alignment.

Neptune is associated with precipitation and we've certainly had an excessive amount of rain here in Taos these last few days.

The afternoon is mentally alert and active as the Moon sextiles Mercury (2:38 PM). People are ready to reach out and make contact, to communicate and share. The evening hours are energized (Moon trine Uranus at 7:24 PM), even hyperactive as the Moon moves into a square to Mars (9:06 PM). This can be irritable if there's not a physical outlet for all this pent up energy.

Thursday 5/28 - The Moon enters Leo at 1:44 AM.

The mood is sunny and radiant, even if the weather isn't, as the Leo Moon sextiles the Sun in Gemini (2:23 PM).

Neptune goes into its annual retrograde phase (10:31 PM), meaning that Neptune's action becomes more subconscious.

Friday 5/29 - There's a flurry of activity this afternoon as a Moon/Mercury square (4:09 PM) has people in a rush to take care of business and get ready for the weekend. Actually it's all quite fun as a simultaneous Moon/Venus trine (4:21 PM) makes for a graceful and gracious approach.

Tonight the Leo Moon opposes Neptune (10:15 PM) and Jupiter (10:27 PM). There's a desire for contact with community and friends but the mood is mellow so it may be hard to get motivated unless the party is at your house.

Saturday 5/30 - The Moon enters Virgo at 4:17 AM.

This weekend turns out to be more businesslike and work oriented than one might have thought. A Moon/Pluto trine (8:44 AM) has people focused on plowing through that to-do list.

Mercury goes direct (7:22 PM) today so plans that have been on hold for the last couple of weeks begin to move forward now.

The mood is rather fussy and argumentative tonight (Virgo Moon square the Sun in Gemini at 9:22 PM). People tend to be hypercritical and demanding now.

Sunday 5/31 - This did turn out to be a disappointing weekend. Maybe it's the weather. A Moon/Saturn conjunction (6:38 AM) makes it a good morning to sleep in. Take it easy today, rest and recharge.

Mars enters Taurus (3:18 PM) so the restlessness of spring fever subsides making it easier to concentrate on summer projects.

The mood lightens up tonight when the Moon trines Mercury (8:32 PM). At least there's enough energy available to fire a few synapses and get our brains moving. Time to make a few phone calls, though this may be as far as it goes.

* All times are MDT (Mountain Daylight Time). For EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) add two hours. All aspects in bold are major influences that are in effect for several days. The Moon's daily aspects are rapidly shifting influences that are in effect for only a few hours.
