 Mon Mar 3rd - Sun Mar 9th

Monday 3/03 - Monday starts out quietly. The Moon is void of course (making no contacts to other planets) until it moves into Aquarius at 9:24 PM tonight.

Tuesday 3/04 - It's another quiet day. There are still no major lunar aspects though, early this morning (3:01 AM), Mars leaves super-social Gemini and enters introverted Cancer. While Mars is in Cancer (3/04 - 5/09) people are motivated to take action concerning home, family and security issues.

Wednesday 3/05 - There's a dreamlike quality to this day that may have us wondering if we're really awake or have somehow moved into another reality, an altered state of being. This is not the day to conduct important business but is wonderful for making art or meditation. This is a day when dreams can come true and prayers are realized, so image what you want, not what you're in fear of. The Moon conjuncts Mercury (7:06 AM), Venus (12:10 PM) and Neptune (2:46 PM) in Aquarius.

Thursday 3/06 - The Moon moves into Pisces at 3:53 AM.

The morning is energized by a Moon/Mars trine (5:04 AM) so, for the first time this week, there's motivation to get out of bed early and get going. There's dedication and resolve to accomplish something important (Moon sextile Pluto at 5:33 AM) but it doesn't happen easily and you may run into a brickwall before the morning is over and the Moon opposes Saturn (11:21 AM). It's time to stop and regroup. Plans may need revising before you can move forward.

But if you're willing to expand your view and take a different perspective, the answer is right at your fingertips. There is an opportunity waiting for you to knock on the right door as the Sun sextiles Jupiter at 12:04 AM. This could turn out to be your lucky day after all.

Venus conjuncts Neptune at 5:03 PM. This divine energy has been in operation since the Moon activated it yesterday morning. Like any astrological alignment it has certain potentials and pitfalls. Venus/Neptune is psychic, creative, compassionate and deeply effected by beauty and a longing for a divine love. But it can also strike a dumb note, manifesting as drug or alcoholic binging or setting oneself up to be victimized. This usually happens when we fool ourselves into believing something that we wish were true and ignore that quiet voice inside that's trying to warn us to watch our step. In other words, we cooperate in our own deception.

Friday 3/07 - Shortly after midnight Mars opposes Pluto (2:05 AM). This aspect is in effect for several days so its really been flavoring the entire week. This is a deeply passionate energy. The raw power this aspect represents is just too great a temptation for those who find all their answers in violence and brutality. But this does not make the power in this alignment inherently evil. It has just as great a potential to be used for the good of all and for enlightenment, though one wonders if it is in human nature to use it this way.

Mars has opposed Pluto twice since the fall (9/21 /07 & 1/02/08) indicating that this week's opposition is the culmination of energies that have been at work behind the scenes since last September. What makes this week's opposition particularly interesting is that Pluto has recently moved into Capricorn, so while the others occurred in Sag/Gemini, from more of an ideological perspective, this one happens in Cap/Cancer and has more of an impact on the world's political and financial power structures.

Looking back at the week of Sept 21, 2007 and the first Mars/Pluto opposition, this was when the peaceful protests led by Buddhist monks in Burma reached their culmination and the military junta cracked down hard, dispersing the monasteries and cremating the bodies of protesters so that no real death count was ever available. Also that week, Israel declared Gaza an "enemy entity" and their forces entered the Northern Gaza Strip for a two day raid.

During the week of January 2, 2008 and the second Mars/Pluto opposition, oil surged briefly above $100 a barrel, Barak Obama won the Iowa caucus and Benazir Bhutto was assassinated in Pakistan (12/27/08).

(Quoting the Sept 17-23, 2007 Astrology Update . . . Mars/Pluto contains a tremendous energy akin to a nuclear explosion or, on the positive side, a rising kundalini blasting your consciousness into the galaxies. Some will experience this as an explosion of rage or violence. Mars/Pluto . . . energy to focus on achieving an important goal. This aspect lends determination, focus bordering on obsession and incredible endurance.)

The New Moon in Pisces (10:14 AM) is expansive, exciting and adventurous (New Moon conjunct Uranus and sextile Jupiter). New possibilities open new vistas and opportunities this month. The Mars/Pluto energy adds a fierce determination to break away from restrictions and overcome obstacles. Mercury/Venus/Neptune in Aquarius shows we're dreaming big, longing for something vast and wonderful, and concerned with the greater good, not just our own benefit.

Saturday 3/08 - This morning brings the Mars/Pluto opposition's power and the world events that it triggers into full focus. The Moon enters Aries at 7:23 AM and moves on to t-square Mars and Pluto (squaring Pluto at 9:02 AM and Mars at 9:45 AM) so the energies at work this morning are very volatile and explosive.

Today's Sun/Uranus conjunction (1:19 PM) doesn't help matters much. Though often exciting and fun (at least for adrenaline junkies) this aspect brings sudden and unexpected events that pop us out of our ruts, breaking down limitations and freeing people from inner and outer obstructions. Paired with Mars/Pluto though, today's events could be rather shocking.

Turn your clocks ahead an hour when you go to bed tonight because Daylight Savings Time begins tomorrow.

Sunday 3/09 - The last couple of days have been pretty intense but things mellow out today. Mercury conjunct Neptune (1:53 AM) is a very spaced-out energy, good for cruising the ethers, making beautiful music and tuning into other planes of existence. It is not good for detailed, precision work or remembering where you put the car keys. Relax, recharge and enjoy the beauty that surrounds us everyday but so often goes unnoticed. This is a very sweet day .

  Mon Mar 10th - Sun Mar 16th

Monday 3/10 - It's a pleasant and productive day.

There's a sweet mood this morning as the Moon sextiles Venus early on (5:09 AM). Lazy and relaxed, this won't see many people bounding out of bed at the crack of dawn when it's so much more pleasant to cuddle up and enjoy the warmth and comfort of staying under the covers a bit longer.

The Moon enters Taurus at 10:14 AM.

The energy level jumps this afternoon (Moon sextile Mars at 1:47 PM) and we finally get into gear. Then the mood becomes more serious and disciplined (Moon trine Saturn at 4:43 PM). Many will decide to work late to make up for this morning's slow start.

Tuesday 3/11 - An interesting turn of events creates a mood of excitement and enthusiasm late in the afternoon (Moon trines Jupiter at 2:59 PM and sextiles Uranus at 5:19 PM). Something unexpected but thoroughly enjoyable catches you by surprise. It's so nice when things work out this well.

People are friendly and supportive and this harmonious mood extends well into the evening (Moon/Sun sextile at 10:34 PM). Then it's time for lights out as the Moon squares Neptune just before midnight and the energy fades.

Wednesday 3/12 - People are rather stubborn and cantankerous this morning. The Taurus Moon squares Mercury (6:27 AM) and Venus (11:26 AM) in the last degrees of Aquarius. All this fixed energy doesn't make for much flexibility, so don't push the Bull, coax him instead. It's so much easier that way.

The Moon enters Gemini at 11:56 AM and now people are ready to talk.

Venus moves into Pisces (4:51 PM) where it will stay until April 5th. This is the time when Pisces look and feel their best. Venus in Pisces is characterized by its sensitivity, a mysterious, alluring manner and gentle charm.

Unfortunately the first thing that happens is that Venus gets its feelings hurt as the Moon in Gemini squares critical Saturn in Virgo (6:13 PM) and someone says something unkind.

Thursday 3/13 - Today's Venus/Pluto sextile (1:07 PM) intensifies the emotional tone and people become very determined about their likes and dislikes. There's a dedication and loyalty here that's very admirable.

Things are rather unpredictable this evening (Moon square Uranus at 7:45 PM). The mood is restless and people are impatient and easily bored. Find something different and interesting to do but watch your driving. This is an accident-prone alignment.

Friday 3/14 - We're heading into a difficult and disappointing few days. Don't expect much from the weekend. This could and maybe should be one of those weekends when you never get a break and just keep working straight on through. Attempts to relax and get away from it all don't turn out to be all that enjoyable, so you might as well focus on work and get it done. This is not a good time to have a party or get married.

There's a huge lineup of lunar aspects this afternoon and evening so there's an a lot going on and by no means is all of it bad. It's just that there's a ponderous undertone weighting things down.

The Moon moves into Cancer at 2:37 PM.

Mars sextiles serious Saturn (3:24 PM). This is an aspect of concerted effort and the ability to put up with strenuous demands on our resources and abilities. This alignment is an influence for the next several days.

Mercury joins Venus in Pisces (4:46 PM). Mercury in Pisces is psychic and poetic but tends to get rather muddled and confused. Try to be extra clear in your communications and double check that people have understood you while Mercury is in Pisces.

The mood turns passionate tonight as the Moon trines lovely Venus (7:04 PM) and then moves on to conjoin lusty Mars (9:03 PM) but there's something unrequited or unsatisfying in the mix as tomorrow's Venus/Saturn opposition is muddying the waters.

Saturday 3/15 - Today's Mercury/Pluto sextile focuses the intellect and heightens perception, clarifying our thoughts and bringing out the best in Pisces Mercury. There could be some behind the scenes plotting and planning going on but this alignment also helps us to see through other people's schemes. Trust your intuition when trying to evaluate what's really going on.

Venus opposition Saturn is an emotionally painful aspect signifying some kind of loss or bereavement. It can be as simple as spoiling your favorite dress or losing a valued possession or it can be the loss of a relationship or loved one. If we don't experience an emotional loss at this time, the Venus/Saturn energy can turn our attention to a past situation that we're still processing. People are more likely to view current events through the lens of this past loss and perceive the present more negatively than it might really be. This is not a good time to make long-range decisions because of this negativity.

This evening there's an urge to put on a happy face and have some fun (Moon opposition Jupiter at 9:58 PM and trine Uranus at 11:44 PM). People will not tell you how they're really feeling now, as they'd rather forget about it themselves.

Sunday 3/16 - Venus trine Mars (2:21 AM) is an aspect of sexuality and attraction. Usually this indicates a time when our desires our fulfilled and there is harmony between the sexes but yesterday's Venus/Saturn opposition complicates matters. This could indicate the end of one relationship and the beginning of another, except that it isn't a very good time to start anything new. Another variation on this theme could be one's mate being a great comfort in a time of sadness. Of course, there are many, many ways for this energy to manifest.

Overall, people are loving and supportive today (Moon trine Sun at 12:58 PM), coming together to help each other deal with recent problems and disappointments.

The Moon enters Leo at 7:04 PM.

* All times are MDT (Mountain Daylight Time). For EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) add two hours. All aspects in bold are major influences that are in effect for several days. The Moon's daily aspects are rapidly shifting influences that are in effect for only a few hours.

 Mon Mar 17th - Sun Mar 23rd

Monday 3/17 - Today’s Mercury opposition to Saturn (3:47 AM) creates a solemn and serious mood that often brings bad news in its wake. This is an appropriate time to consider what is not working in any given situation and contemplate how to remedy matters. People are thinking about how to make necessary changes but it’s easy to get discouraged and depressed as obstacles can seem rather overwhelming. Communication is difficult and people are unresponsive to attempts to draw them out. If you need to make contact, it’s probably best to wait until tomorrow.

Tuesday 3/18 - This morning’s Mercury/Mars trine (5:38 AM) has people ready to talk. Though you may not like what you hear, it all comes pouring out. Mars energizes and activates Mercury, the mind, so everyone wants to express themselves.

The Moon in Leo opposes Neptune (12:39 PM) early this afternoon so emotions are confused and conflicted. People’s opinions are not necessarily logical but they need to express themselves to get it all sorted out. Talk therapy.

Wednesday 3/19 - The Moon enters Virgo at 1:25 AM.

The week’s serious tone continues as we wake up to a Moon/Saturn conjunction (7:33 AM). It’s hard to shake the blues. Energy levels are low but demands on our energies are high. Take your vitamins and get plenty of rest, as it’s easy to get sick. It’s the old body/mind connection. Money problems and limited resources (Saturn in Virgo) can be a major concern.

Things pick up later this morning when the Moon sextiles Mars (11:38 AM) and we finally get into gear.

The tone is rather argumentative this afternoon as the Moon in Virgo opposes Mercury (2:29 PM) and Venus (5:31 PM) in Pisces. People tend to be hypercritical now and tender feelings are easily hurt.

The Spring Equinox point occurs at 11:49 PM tonight, this is the moment that the Sun enters Aries.

Thursday 3/20 - The dark mood lifts and people are feeling good, even grateful, this morning as the Moon moves into a trine to optimistic Jupiter (12:20 PM). A practical solution presents itself and recent limitations start to ease.

A Moon/Uranus opposition (1:28 PM) has us in the mood to break away from restrictive situations. Get out and take some time for yourself.

Friday 3/21 - Today’s energies are potent, even dangerous, as the Full Moon makes a grand square to the recent Mars/Pluto opposition, activating and culminating the Mars/Pluto energy (see March 7th’s discussion of Mars/Pluto and consider the connection to the uprising in Tibet, which hopefully is not going the same way as Burma’s did). The Sun is exactly square Pluto today (2:36 AM) and the Moon squares Pluto at 11:52 AM. This is all about how we use our power, as individuals and collectively.

The Moon is Full in 1º of Libra at 12:40 PM.

The edgy, explosive energy continues building throughout the day as we move toward tonight’s Moon/Mars square (10:15 PM). Try and channel all that power into something constructive, something positive .

Saturday 3/22 - The Libra Moon makes no major aspects until tonight’s square to Jupiter (10:34 PM). Moon/Jupiter likes to put a positive spin on things. This can be looking on the bright side or it can be outright hypocrisy. Don’t believe everything you hear. Most people will experience this day as a relief from recent tensions.

Sunday 3/23 - Happy Easter. The mood is quiet, peaceful and contemplative (Moon trine Neptune at 6:42 AM and sextile Pluto at 10:20 PM). This is the right frame of mind in which to reflect on the week’s events.

The Moon enters Scorpio at 8:06 PM.

* All times are MDT (Mountain Daylight Time). For EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) add two hours. All aspects in bold are major influences that are in effect for several days. The Moon's daily aspects are rapidly shifting influences that are in effect for only a few hours.

 Mon Mar 24th - Sun Mar 30th

Monday 3/24 - After two rather demanding and difficult weeks, the mood finally lightens up. That special potency of Spring stirs our blood. The sap is rising and Mercury conjuncts Venus in 15° Pisces encouraging a happier, more playful attitude. Devote some time to a creative project. Make, or simply enjoy, some beautiful music and get out and enjoy the spring.

The week gets off to a rapid start as the Scorpio Moon trines Mars (11:07 AM) so a lot gets accomplished for a Monday.

Tuesday 3/25 - People are businesslike but accommodating this morning (Moon sextile Jupiter at 10:45 AM). If you need help you can get it now. There's an urge to branch out and try a new approach (Moon trine Uranus at 11:13 AM) and you can make contact with the people who can make it happen.

Things get a little spacey later this afternoon when the Moon squares Neptune (6:36 PM). Take it easy, take a nap and don't expect much from people this evening.

Wednesday 3/26 - People are businesslike but accommodating this morning (Moon sextile Jupiter at 10:45 AM). If you need help you can get it now. There's an urge to branch out and try a new approach (Moon trine Uranus at 11:13 AM) and you can make contact with the people who can make it happen.

It gets a little spacey later this afternoon when the Moon squares Neptune (6:36 PM). Take it easy, take a nap and don't expect much from people this evening.

Thursday 3/27 - The next two days are supercharged with an electrical intensity, a volatile, exciting energy and the feeling that anything and everything is possible now. This is a time of optimism and inspiration. Our brains are buzzing and insight abounds. Today's Mercury/Jupiter sextile (12:56 PM) has folks looking on the bright side (a nice change from last week's gloomy perspective). It's easier to communicate and be heard. Maybe people are listening better or maybe we're all just a little bit smarter now.

Opportunities and unexpected offers pop up out of the blue catching us by surprise as Mercury conjuncts Uranus (2:08 PM). Take a fresh look at your circumstances and come away with a new perspective; new answers to old problems. This is the aspect of the inventor, the innovator, the instigator.

It's a party night tonight. People are letting it all hang out, taking chances and living large. (Moon square Venus at 10:13 PM and Uranus at 12:05 AM). Some will push it too far. There's a strong urge to go to extremes but no guarantee that things will go as expected. This can be a rather accident-prone time. Try not to win any Darwin awards.

Friday 3/28 - There's a delightfully relaxed, sleepy mood this morning (Moon sextile Neptune at 7:21 AM). A feeling of wellbeing and gratitude for recent benefits permeates our awakening consciousness. Try to remember what's in your mind as you emerge from your dreams.

Venus sextile Jupiter (4:54 PM) feels abundant and likes to throw a little bit of money around. This is the aspect of the big spender. People tend to buy luxury items under this influence and items purchased now are usually much appreciated.

Venus conjunct Uranus (4:58 PM) draws interesting and unusual new acquaintances into your orbit, people who inspire you to break away from restrictions and try something new and maybe even a little bit dangerous.

Jupiter sextile Uranus (6:14 PM) is the core of the recent excitement. Expansive, adventurous, inquisitive, this is an aspect of discovery.

The Moon moves into Capricorn at 8:43 PM and heads straight into a passionately intense conjunction to Pluto (11 PM).

Saturday 3/29 - Today is a bit of a letdown after the excitement of the past couple of days. It's time to come in for a landing and refocus on a goal we've been hoping to achieve (Cap Moon square Aries Sun at 3:47 PM). There's a strong drive to succeed but don't try too hard. There's a tendency to shoot yourself in the foot as the Moon opposes Mars (4:14 PM). Just because a little is good doesn't mean that a whole lot is better. Moderation brings the best results now.

Sunday 3/30 - This morning's Sun/Mars square (1:22 AM) was triggered yesterday. This impulsive alignment tends to go off half-cocked and little bit early anyway. The Sun's square to Mars encourages ill-considered action that works against your own best interests. Displays of arrogance won't make the right impression or garner the support you're hoping for.

The day gets going around noon when the pace picks up and the enthusiasm of recent days catches fire again (Capricorn Moon sextile Uranus at 12:02 PM and conjunct Jupiter at 12:15 PM). Recent offers and inspirations turn into concrete action and opportunities.

The mood mellows into a highly enjoyable afternoon as the Moon sextiles Venus (4:37 PM) and Mercury (10:54 PM). Get out on the town for a bit of sight seeing, take in a special event or party or just a great visit with friends.

* All times are MDT (Mountain Daylight Time). For EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) add two hours. All aspects in bold are major influences that are in effect for several days. The Moon's daily aspects are rapidly shifting influences that are in effect for only a few hours.

Mon Mar 31st - Sun Apr 6th

Monday 3/31 - It's a quiet and uneventful Monday. The Moon enters Aquarius at 7:34 AM but makes no major aspects.

Tuesday 4/01 - It's April Fool's Day. The tone is one of harmony and enthusiasm as the Aquarius Moon sextiles the Sun in Aries at 6:28 AM.

Wednesday 4/02 - Pluto goes into its annual retrograde phase. It will be in retrograde until early September. This means that the transformative action of Pluto is happening on a more subtle, internal level during this period.

Mercury enters Aries at 11:45 AM. Aries Mercury in is not hesitant about expressing its feelings and opinions and enjoys a good debate or argument. This is a good time to revise, improve and start new projects.

The Moon moves into Pisces at 2:55 PM. The mood becomes rather intense and serious later in the day as the Moon sextiles Pluto (4:57) and opposes Saturn (7:16 PM). People aren't very cooperative this evening and energy levels are low, so keep any plans to a minimum.

Thursday 4/03 - Today's Mercury/Pluto square has people pondering some problem. This is a very internal, private and usually rather secretive alignment. It is a good influence for getting to the root of an old problem. Understand your issues or act them out, that is the choice here.

The tone is forceful and emotional this morning as the Pisces Moon trines Mars in Cancer (11:52 AM). Mars in Cancer is known for a tendency to overreact.

This could turn into an exciting evening for you night owls. The Moon conjuncts electric Uranus (1:51 AM) so even those who are trying to sleep may have a hard time settling down tonight.

Friday 4/04 - The Pisces Moon conjuncts lovely Venus this afternoon (3:43 PM). This creates a tender, romantic mood, which turns quite passionate as we head toward a Moon/Pluto square (8:21 PM). Desires are strong but feelings are easily hurt now so be sensitive to others.

The Moon enters Aries at 6:27 PM.

Saturday 4/05 - Things are heating up. With four planets in Aries and a Moon/Mars square (3:46 PM) temperatures are rising rapidly. The mood can become rather argumentative this afternoon. Aries is full of enthusiasm and passion for life but is impatient and easily frustrated.

The Moon is New in 16° Aries tonight at 9:55 PM. Spring comes on strong now. Spring fever hits full force and people are bubbling with energy and eagerness to begin new ventures and adventures.

Venus enters Aries (11:35 PM). Venus in Aries is a bit of a Valkyrie, a warrior maiden, fierce and beautiful but potentially quite dangerous. Treat the lady with respect.

Sunday 4/06 - The morning is slow paced and relaxing with a dreamlike quality as the Moon sextiles Neptune at 9:02 AM. The Moon enters Taurus at 7:20 PM.

The evening is serious, practical and very intense as the Taurus Moon makes a grand trine with Pluto (9:09 PM) and Saturn (10:57 PM). There's a laserlike focus here that can work for or against you depending on what you're focusing on. You can get an amazing amount done on a special project or spend your time wallowing in a giant pool of self pity brought on by tonight's Venus/Pluto square (9:47 PM). Venus/Pluto brings up old wounds for review and replay. Some people can be quite cruel under this aspect.

* All times are MDT (Mountain Daylight Time). For EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) add two hours. All aspects in bold are major influences that are in effect for several days. The Moon's daily aspects are rapidly shifting influences that are in effect for only a few hours.
