Monday
starts out quietly. The Moon is void of course (making no contacts
to other planets) until it moves into Aquarius at 9:24 PM tonight.

It's
another quiet day. There are still no major lunar aspects though,
early this morning (3:01 AM), Mars leaves super-social Gemini and
enters introverted Cancer. While Mars is in Cancer (3/04 - 5/09)
people are motivated to take action concerning home, family and
security issues.

There's
a dreamlike quality to this day that may have us wondering if we're
really awake or have somehow moved into another reality, an altered
state of being. This is not the day to conduct important business
but is wonderful for making art or meditation. This is a day when
dreams can come true and prayers are realized, so image what you
want, not what you're in fear of. The Moon conjuncts Mercury (7:06
AM), Venus (12:10 PM) and Neptune (2:46 PM) in Aquarius.
Thursday
3/06 - The
Moon moves into Pisces at 3:53 AM.
The
morning is energized by a Moon/Mars trine (5:04 AM) so, for the
first time this week, there's motivation to get out of bed early
and get going. There's dedication and resolve to accomplish something
important (Moon sextile Pluto at 5:33 AM) but it doesn't happen
easily and you may run into a brickwall before the morning is over
and the Moon opposes Saturn (11:21 AM). It's time to stop and regroup.
Plans may need revising before you can move forward.
But
if you're willing to expand your view and take a different perspective,
the answer is right at your fingertips. There is an opportunity
waiting for you to knock on the right door as the Sun sextiles
Jupiter at 12:04 AM. This could turn out to be your lucky day
after all.
Venus
conjuncts Neptune at 5:03 PM. This divine energy has been in
operation since the Moon activated it yesterday morning. Like any
astrological alignment it has certain potentials and pitfalls. Venus/Neptune
is psychic, creative, compassionate and deeply effected by beauty
and a longing for a divine love. But it can also strike a dumb note,
manifesting as drug or alcoholic binging or setting oneself up to
be victimized. This usually happens when we fool ourselves into
believing something that we wish were true and ignore that quiet
voice inside that's trying to warn us to watch our step. In other
words, we cooperate in our own deception.

Shortly
after midnight Mars opposes Pluto (2:05 AM). This aspect
is in effect for several days so its really been flavoring the entire
week. This is a deeply passionate energy. The raw power this aspect
represents is just too great a temptation for those who find all
their answers in violence and brutality. But this does not make
the power in this alignment inherently evil. It has just as great
a potential to be used for the good of all and for enlightenment,
though one wonders if it is in human nature to use it this way.
Mars
has opposed Pluto twice since the fall (9/21 /07 & 1/02/08)
indicating that this week's opposition is the culmination of energies
that have been at work behind the scenes since last September. What
makes this week's opposition particularly interesting is that Pluto
has recently moved into Capricorn, so while the others occurred
in Sag/Gemini, from more of an ideological perspective, this one
happens in Cap/Cancer and has more of an impact on the world's political
and financial power structures.
Looking
back at the week of Sept 21, 2007 and the first Mars/Pluto
opposition, this was when the peaceful protests led by Buddhist
monks in Burma reached their culmination and the military junta
cracked down hard, dispersing the monasteries and cremating the
bodies of protesters so that no real death count was ever available.
Also that week, Israel declared Gaza an "enemy entity" and their
forces entered the Northern Gaza Strip for a two day raid.
During
the week of January 2, 2008 and the second Mars/Pluto
opposition, oil surged briefly above $100 a barrel, Barak Obama
won the Iowa caucus and Benazir Bhutto was assassinated in Pakistan
(12/27/08).
(Quoting
the Sept 17-23, 2007 Astrology Update . . . Mars/Pluto contains
a tremendous energy akin to a nuclear explosion or, on the positive
side, a rising kundalini blasting your consciousness into the galaxies.
Some will experience this as an explosion of rage or violence. Mars/Pluto
. . . energy to focus on achieving an important goal. This aspect
lends determination, focus bordering on obsession and incredible
endurance.)
The
New Moon in Pisces (10:14 AM) is expansive, exciting and adventurous
(New Moon conjunct Uranus and sextile Jupiter). New possibilities
open new vistas and opportunities this month. The Mars/Pluto energy
adds a fierce determination to break away from restrictions and
overcome obstacles. Mercury/Venus/Neptune in Aquarius shows we're
dreaming big, longing for something vast and wonderful, and concerned
with the greater good, not just our own benefit.
Saturday
3/08 - This
morning brings the Mars/Pluto opposition's power and the
world events that it triggers into full focus. The Moon enters Aries
at 7:23 AM and moves on to t-square Mars and Pluto (squaring Pluto
at 9:02 AM and Mars at 9:45 AM) so the energies at work this morning
are very volatile and explosive.
Today's
Sun/Uranus conjunction (1:19 PM) doesn't help matters much.
Though often exciting and fun (at least for adrenaline junkies)
this aspect brings sudden and unexpected events that pop us out
of our ruts, breaking down limitations and freeing people from inner
and outer obstructions. Paired with Mars/Pluto though, today's events
could be rather shocking.
Turn
your clocks ahead an hour when you go to bed tonight because Daylight
Savings Time begins tomorrow.

The
last couple of days have been pretty intense but things mellow out
today. Mercury conjunct Neptune (1:53 AM) is a very spaced-out
energy, good for cruising the ethers, making beautiful music and
tuning into other planes of existence. It is not good for detailed,
precision work or remembering where you put the car keys. Relax,
recharge and enjoy the beauty that surrounds us everyday but so
often goes unnoticed. This is a very sweet day .

All times are MDT (Mountain Daylight Time). For EDT (Eastern Daylight
Time) add two hours. All aspects in bold are major
influences that are in effect for several days. The Moon's daily
aspects are rapidly shifting influences that are in effect for only
a few hours.
