Today is the Solstice and that means that the year is already
half over. How did that happen? The Sun enters Cancer at 5:30 AM
so, Happy Birthday, Cancer.
The Moon moves into Scorpio at 6:14 AM.
The morning starts in harmony (Sun/Moon trine at 6:17 AM) but, as
we're dealing with the watery, emotional energy of Cancer and Scorpio,
the mood is rather introverted and quiet. The Moon sextiles Pluto
(1:40 PM) after noon, maintaining the pensive tone.
A very different mood kicks in this evening as the Sun squares
wild and crazy Uranus (6:28 PM). We'll be dealing with lots
of Uranian energy this week. Actually we're all over the map as
the Sun and Mercury, traveling side by side in Cancer, trigger the
big t-square we astrologers have been groaning about all year. Saturn
is opposing Jupiter and Uranus and together they t-square that planetary
heavy-weight, Pluto. Now the Sun and Mercury fill in the missing
point in Cancer, turning the t-square into a grand square. On top
of this, the Full Moon falls right on top of Pluto.
In astrology, it is when the greatest number of aspects line-up
that one expects major events to erupt. So, though this t-square
has been building all year, this is the time when one would reasonably
expect it to reveal its latent potential.
Sun/Uranus indicates a necessity for change. This is a familiar
theme lately since we've recently seen Jupiter conjunct Uranus as
both planets moved into Aries. Today's square aspect indicates friction
or resistance to the changes that need to be made, as the naturally
conservative Cancer Sun clings to the familiar, unwilling to deal
with the uncertainty and upheaval that changes might cause. It's
a case of preferring the devil you know to the devil you don't know.
The discomfort of your current situation is less threatening than
facing the unknown territory that actually doing something to improve
your circumstances might confront you with. The thing is that Uranus
always wins, eventually you will have to make these changes, so
it's better to be initiating and directing them rather than waiting
for the inevitable blow-up that denial and delay will bring.
Those with birthdays in the first 5 degrees of Cancer, Libra, Capricorn
and Aries are being especially affected by all this.
Tuesday
6/22
- It's
a quiet day. There are no major aspects today but your instincts
may be telling you that there is a storm brewing.
Wednesday
6/23
- Sun square Jupiter (7:21 AM) is exuberant and outgoing
but not necessarily straightforward. Sun/Jupiter will tell
you everything is great no matter what is really going on beneath
the surface. At what point does positive thinking become denial?
There's
an undercurrent of uncertainty this morning as the Moon aspects
both Saturn and Neptune shortly after 8 AM. Then, just after noon,
the Moon moves into Sagittarius (12:10 PM) and an adventurous, even
riotous mood takes over as the Moon trines Uranus (1:09 PM) and
Jupiter (3:52 PM). People will want to take a long lunch and then
disappear into the horizon. Take off and have an adventure .
Thursday
6/24
- An
early Moon/Mars square (5:17 AM) may catapult you out of bed this
morning eager to tackle the day. Interactions could turn confrontational
as Sag/Virgo can be nit-picky and critical.
The
mood soothes as we reach a midmorning Moon/Venus trine (10:20 AM).
Moon/Venus just wants to have fun and get along.
This
is what lies beneath Sun/Jupiter's sunny exterior; a depressive,
worrisome Mercury/Saturn square (10:25 AM). This indicates
either the concerns you've been hiding or sudden bad news that shows
up around midmorning.
Mercury
trine Neptune (12:34 PM) may increase the tendency to hide information
about what's really going on. At its best, this can be a very spiritual
approach to problems as we surrender our fears and decide to trust
the perfection of what unfolds before us.
Friday
6/25
-
Mercury
enters Cancer (4:32 AM) and squares Uranus (10:37 AM).
Things are cooking now. From yesterday through early Sunday, Mercury
makes five major aspects, among them squares to Saturn, Uranus and
Jupiter. Mercury represents our state of mind which is up, down
and sideways right now; full of fear one moment, assertive and self-assured
the next.
Sun
opposition Pluto (12:53 AM) indicates a power struggle or the
tendency to abuse the power you have. There are powerful forces
at work now. It's King Kong versus Godzilla in a kind of Battle
of the Titans.
The
Moon enters Capricorn at 8:21 PM.
This
is not the evening to go out on the town. The Moon squares Saturn
(5:19 PM) so, by the end of the day, people are feeling low energy
and dispirited. A Moon/Uranus square at 9:25 PM may make you suddenly
feel restless and ready for some excitement but the Moon/Pluto conjunction
coming up in the early hours of Saturday may not be the kind of
entertainment you had in mind.
Saturday
6/26
-
The Moon is Full in 4 degrees of Capricorn at 5:30
AM this morning. This is a difficult Full Moon. It falls on top
of tomorrow's Mercury/Pluto opposition which brings out people's
neuroses. Expect a lot of unconscious behaviors and outright craziness.
Mercury/Pluto can also indicate scheming, plotting and underhanded
behavior, ranging from petty lies to world class criminality.
For those looking for that silver lining, Mercury square Jupiter
(5:08 AM) will put a positive spin on things. For others, it's about
putting your best foot forward no matter what you're feeling inside.
For some, Mercury/Jupiter means turning up the volume on
what you're trying to say. Shout louder if you're not being heard.
Jupiter aspects do tend to get superseded by influences from heavyweights
like Pluto and Saturn.
The energy gets better this afternoon when a Moon/Mars trine (4:53
PM) helps strengthen and rejuvenate us. Get out and get some exercise.
Getting out of your head and into your body is grounding and stabilizing.
Sunday
6/27

Mercury
opposition Pluto (1:14 AM) is the only aspect today. It is best
used for self-analysis. Take a good look at yourself and be honest.
It's not easy but it can change your life.

All times are MDT (Mountain Daylight Time). For EDT (Eastern Daylight
Time) add two hours. All aspects in bold are major
influences that are in effect for several days. The Moon's daily
aspects are rapidly shifting influences that are in effect for only
a few hours.
