Mon June 29th- Sun July 5th

Monday 6/29 - Last week's tensions subside as a very special week unfolds. Monday is relatively quiet. There's a little creative tension to get us up and moving as the Libra Moon makes an early morning square to the Sun in Cancer (5:28 AM), its only major aspect of the day.

Tuesday 6/30 - It's an amazing day. This could be a time when you just relax and enjoy or it could be when results and rewards from recent efforts start rolling in. It is a great couple of days to vacation, hold a special event or celebration or just spend some quality time with good friends. Communication is favored now and the response you receive is exceptionally favorable. The Libra Moon makes a grand trine with Mercury in Gemini (11:02 AM) and the Neptune (3:11 PM) Jupiter (3:59 PM) conjunction.

The Moon enters Scorpio at 10:19 PM.

Wednesday 7/01 - This has got to be one of the most powerful days of the year. Today's line-up of six major aspects all key into the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction or to Uranus. These are not aspects that are concerned with wielding power, their affect is psychic, spiritual and emotional and may be quite overwhelming, like being swept away in a powerful tide.

Venus in Taurus squares Neptune (2:01 PM) and Jupiter (10:24 PM) so there's a strong desire to relax, enjoy, indulge, maybe overindulge. People do tend to go to excess under this kind of influence. There's a great temptation to spend a lot of money on a luxury item. Sharing the good times with a friend or someone you love will make them even more special.

There's a lot of focus on the planet Mercury now. Last week, Mercury squared Saturn and our attention was drawn to some area of our lives that is not working very well. Something needs to be worked on, revised or eliminated all together. Today Mercury squares Uranus (8:13 PM) and some radical decisions are being made, decisions to make changes, to try a new approach. This can happen rather suddenly. Unexpected news may catch you unaware or prod you into action. This is a surprising day.

Mercury is also trining Neptune (2:48 PM) and Jupiter (7:35 PM), giving expression to the hopes and dreams we've been entertaining during the Jupiter/Neptune period we've been enjoying this past six weeks. Combined with the Uranus influence, this may give you the courage to take a chance, a decisive step toward making those dreams come true.

And last but not least, Venus sextiles Uranus (11:42 PM). Venus/Uranus is a thrill seeker who loves a bit of adventure and values personal freedom highly. What a great time to get out and shake a leg. Take a little road trip. Try something new. Feel the wind in your hair and the open road before you.

Uranus went retrograde at 1:37 AM this morning so it is standing still for the moment before it begins a slow backward movement. These periods when a planet makes it's station, slowing down and coming to halt as it changes direction (only from the perspective of viewers on planet Earth, of course), serve to really highlight that planet and any current issues involving it's energy. Uranus is always pushing us to make changes that will allow us greater freedom and self expression in our lives.

Thursday 7/02 - Today is rather humdrum by comparison. An early morning Moon/Saturn sextile (6:12 AM) indicates its time to get take care of business or at least tend to a few practical details.

People take their pleasures seriously under this evening's Moon/Mars opposition (7:34 PM) and tempers flare if they don't get what they want when they want it.

Overindulgence and addiction are a negative manifestation of the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction and this tendency is in high profile now as the Scorpio Moon squares Neptune (12:39 AM Friday). It looks like people are partying hardy tonight so watch out for drunk drivers in the wee hours.

Friday 7/03 - Most of Friday's aspects happened between midnight and 4 AM. It must have been quite a night last night.

The Moon moves into Sagittarius at 8:11 AM.

Mercury enters Cancer (1:20 PM) where it will be until July 17th. It's moving very quickly now so it flashes through the sign of the Crab in just two weeks. While Mercury is in Cancer our thoughts turn to issues concerning home, family and financial and emotional security.

Saturday 7/04 - It's the 4th of July!

Power politics and power plays are in the works as Mercury opposes Pluto (9:28 AM). A lot of this is behind-the-scenes wheeling and dealing as Mercury/Pluto is very secretive. Sometimes long-standing secrets are revealed under this alignment much to the embarrassment of those involved. Guilt manipulation is another form of power play that may be much in evidence as families gather for the holiday.

A Moon /Saturn square at 5:43 PM does not bode well for this evening's celebrations. Maybe the weather is not co-operating. Whatever the reason the mood turns sour. Energy levels are low and people feel enervated and dispirited. Maybe Mercury/Pluto mind games put a damper on the festivities.

Sunday 7/05 - Venus enters Gemini (2:24 AM) heralding a season of parties, reunions and gatherings. Gemini Venus is a very social animal. The more the merrier. Venus will be in Gemini through the end of July.

It's a sweet and sprightly morning. Too bad yesterday wasn't this pleasant. The Sag Moon sextiles Neptune (12:18 AM) and Jupiter (12:46 AM) so people are relaxed and energized at the same time. Get out and have some fun. Things could get a little rowdy as the Moon squares Uranus (1:17 PM). There are some crazy drivers out there. Keep your eyes peeled.

The Moon moves into Capricorn at 8:07 PM and into a conjunction with Pluto (11:28 PM). Hole up for a quiet night. After all the socializing it's time for a little privacy.

* All times are MDT (Mountain Daylight Time). For EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) add two hours. All aspects in bold are major influences that are in effect for several days. The Moon's daily aspects are rapidly shifting influences that are in effect for only a few hours.

  Mon July 6th - Sun July 12th

Monday 7/06 - There's a tug-of-war going on between what seems like the practical thing to do and what our higher nature recommends. At times like this it's good to remember that the best solution is the one where everyone walks away from the table happy. That is not always possible but it is something to strive for. With Mars in Taurus squaring Neptune (8:43 AM) and Jupiter (2:49 PM) it's easy to get confused or rationalize our actions as being altruistic when they are really self-serving. On the other hand, it is possible to be truly self-sacrificing in service of the greater good.

Tuesday 7/07 - It's a high energy week. Today's Mars/Uranus sextile (1:46 AM) is in effect for several days. This active and exciting aspect likes to live life in the fast lane and gets bored and restless if things aren't happening quickly enough. Add to this morning's Full Moon and it may be hard to get any sleep at all on Monday night. It's a marvelous night for a moondance. Take a hint from the coyotes and get out there and howl. (Note these aspects are happening in the wee hours of Tuesday morning).

The Moon is Full in 15° Capricorn at 3:21 AM.

The day gets off to a quiet and sober start as the Moon sextiles Saturn (6:46 AM) so we've come in for a landing after a wild night.

Wednesday 7/08 - It was another wild and wide-eyed night (Moon sextiled Uranus at 2:08 AM and trined Mars at 3:43 AM), though calmer than the previous one. That Full Moon is exerting quite a pull. It is the height of summer after all.

The Moon enters Aquarius at 9:03 AM.

The mood is sweet and very social this afternoon when the Aquarius Moon trines Venus in Gemini (5:06 PM). Get together with friends or a loved one for a special dinner date. It's time to play!

Thursday 7/09 - And now it's time to calm down and tend to business for at least one day this week. With the Sun sextiling Saturn (1:10 AM) you may be able to do it all in one day and make it look easy.

Friday 7/10 - Today is the second Jupiter/Neptune conjunction (3:08 AM) that I have been writing so much about. Jupiter and Neptune will still be traveling in close proximity for the rest of the month so the fun's not over yet. And they'll be back for a brief re-cap in the middle of December. When planets re-visit a certain alignment three times like this the pattern is that a new theme gets introduced on the first pass, developed on the second one and culminates on the third and final pass. (Visit www.astrologess.com to read all the Jupiter/Neptune articles).

The Moon conjuncts Jupiter (1:42 PM) and Neptune (1:45 PM) early this afternoon. This may feel just marvelous, otherworldly, or it may feel like you're underwater as the psychic and emotional pull is so strong. Give in to it. Go with the flow. Follow your heart today. This is a very special time; find some way to honor it.

The mood may be rather edgy and snappish this evening, especially if you couldn't allow some time for yourself today. The Moon square Mars (8:17 PM) makes us angry because we're ignoring our emotional needs.

The Moon moves into Pisces at 9:44 PM.

Saturday 7/11 - There's a bit of an inner argument this morning as we try to decide between some quiet time (Moon in Pisces) and getting out for some social butterflying (Venus in Gemini). The Moon squares Venus just before noon (11:44 AM) and the mood is on luxuriating and having a good time, as long as it doesn't require too much energy.

Mercury sextiles Saturn (7:55 PM) so there's mental discipline and focus available. There's more clarity now, though the outlook may be serious.

Mars moves into Gemini (8:56 PM). Mars in Gemini (7/11 - 8/25) is very social and gregarious, loving to talk and exchange ideas, information and gossip. Gemini lends Mars an active curiosity. Time to get out and explore the neighborhood. Find some new favorite places.

Sunday 7/12 - The morning gets off to a slow start. A Moon/Saturn opposition (8:25 AM) indicates we need to recharge our batteries before we're ready to face the day. Sleep in if you can.

By 11 AM the world is a brighter place (Pisces Moon trines Mercury in Cancer) and people are eager to share their thoughts and feelings with someone they care about. The afternoon is harmonious and intimate (the Moon trines the Cancer Sun 2:30 PM).

* All times are MDT (Mountain Daylight Time). For EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) add two hours. All aspects in bold are major influences that are in effect for several days. The Moon's daily aspects are rapidly shifting influences that are in effect for only a few hours.

 Mon July 13th - Sun July 19th

Monday 7/13 - The Moon enters Aries at 8:40 AM.

The morning gets off to an energetic start as the Aries Moon sextiles Mars in Gemini (10:47 AM). People are enthusiastic and eager to make something happen. Things get rather intense just before noon when the Moon squares Pluto (11:29 AM). Someone may be pushing just a little too hard to have it their way. You may want to lay low to avoid a confrontation.

The Sun conjuncts Mercury in Cancer (8:16 PM) this evening so there's a lot of discussion and social interaction. Cancer is a water sign and therefore very emotional. The opinions that people are expressing are based on feelings not logic so if you have a disagreement with someone you won't be able to reason your way out of it. A sympathetic approach works best.

Tuesday 7/14 - There are no major lunar aspects after a 3:38 AM Moon/Venus sextile but the upcoming trines to Uranus are already setting a dynamic tone for the week.

Wednesday 7/15 - There's a lot of mental activity early in the morning (Moon square Mercury at 7:17 AM). The hustle and bustle may make folks a bit snappish but soon the mood mellows. The Moon sextiles Jupiter (8:31 AM) and Neptune (9:08 AM) and people become friendly and accommodating.

The Moon enters Taurus at 4:30 PM.

The attitude is determined and focused on getting results this evening (Moon trine Pluto at 7:03 PM). Sounds like a good time to tackle a pet project.

Thursday 7/16 - There's an undercurrent of excitement and anticipation as Mercury trines Uranus (12:33 AM). Mercury/Uranus stimulates brain function making it easier to think fast and spot the right answer several steps ahead of the usual "A equals B equals C" rational process. It's a lightening fast analysis and synthesis of data that looks almost magical. People with Mercury/Uranus aspects in their charts really are smarter than the rest of us but more easily bored and impatient.

Today's Mercury/Uranus sets a fast pace. People are craving a change of scene, something new, different and interesting. This is a good time for coming up with an innovative approach to an old problem.

Friday 7/17 - A pleasant, easy-going mood eases us through the first half of the day as the Taurus Moon sextiles the Sun in Cancer (12:46 PM) and squares Jupiter (12:54 PM) and Neptune (1:43 PM). It's a lazy summer day until a Moon/Uranus sextile (2:48 PM) finally wakes us up around mid afternoon.

Mercury enters Leo (5:08 PM) and our attention turns from home and garden to having a little fun in the sun. Got to take some time to play or before you know it the summer will be winding down into fall. Mercury will be in Leo until 8/02/09.

The Moon moves into Gemini at 8:41 PM. It's an active, interesting evening (Moon sextile Mercury in Leo at 9:18 PM), a great night for a party.

Saturday 7/18 - Sleep is restless in the early hours of the morning as the Gemini Moon conjuncts Mars (4:05 AM). This may wake you up well before sunrise. Dreams are full of people and fast action scenarios. Might as well get up and get moving.

Today's Sun/Uranus trine (6:36 PM) is the companion piece to Thursday's Mercury/Uranus aspect though less mental and more action-oriented, as in; planned a trip on Thursday, taking it now. Get out of town, have an adventure, do something fun.

What a beautiful evening, a lovely end to a wonderful day. The Moon conjuncts Venus in Gemini (10:06 PM) so it's another great night for a party, even better than last night. What a fabulous weekend this has turned out to be.

Sunday 7/19 - It's another lovely day. The Moon trines Jupiter (2:07 PM) and Neptune (3:09 PM) so the social, celebratory mood continues. The mood would be relaxed if it wasn't for an accompanying Moon/Uranus square (4:12 PM) that whips up a frenzy of excitement and incites people to take things over the top. Adrenaline junkies are out in search of a thrill. Bungie-jumping, anyone? Whitewater rafting, hang-gliding, parachute jumping, free style rock-climbing, you get the idea.

Things calm down when the Moon moves into Cancer tonight at 9:51 PM. The party's over (Moon opposition Pluto 11:58 PM) and all good things must come to an end.

* All times are MDT (Mountain Daylight Time). For EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) add two hours. All aspects in bold are major influences that are in effect for several days. The Moon's daily aspects are rapidly shifting influences that are in effect for only a few hours.

 Mon July 20th - Sun July 26th

Monday 7/20 - Last week's accent on Mercury carries over into this week. Today's Mercury sextile to Mars (5:32 PM) is mentally alert and very verbal and expressive. People are eager to speak their minds and will relish a bit of a debate.

Tuesday 7/21 - A Venus/Saturn square (2:06 PM) has our attention focused on emotional lack and scanty resources. This is a rather depressing aspect that reminds of us of old hurts and betrayals and may add some new ones to the list. You may have to let something go, possibly a relationship or favored possession. People can be cold and unfeeling under Venus/Saturn. Allowing oneself to be over-whelmed with self-pity gives rise to some very bad behavior. Try to remember all the things that you are grateful for. Counting your blessings is a good antidote for the Venus/Saturn blues.

The energy gets a boost this afternoon when the Moon trines Uranus (3:51 PM), helping energize a rather phlegmatic day.

The Moon is New in the very last degree of Cancer (8:35 PM) tonight. This is a very internal and emotional alignment. All this Cancer energy is rather over-whelming and may have some folks in the fetal position. Normal social interaction can be too demanding when you're feeling vulnerable. This is a total Solar Eclipse, the longest one that will occur in the 21st century. It will not be visible here though. The best viewing will be in India and China.

The Moon enters Leo at 9:28 PM.

Wednesday 7/22 - There's a dramatic shift in energy today. By mid morning the Sun and Moon are both in Leo and yesterday's blues are soon forgotten. The Sun enters Leo at 10:36 AM and with both the "Lights" in the sign of the Lion a sunny, happy mood soon prevails.

Be careful to treat others with respect though. Nothing sets off the Lion like a perceived slight or insult and people are still a little touchy because of the lingering Venus/Saturn influence.

Time to come out of hiding and make contact. It's a very chatty lunch hour though it may be hard to get a word in edgewise as the Moon conjuncts Mercury in Leo (12:58 PM). Leo's flare for self-dramatization is in full display.

Thursday 7/23 - The atmosphere is warm and friendly. The day starts off with a sweet Moon/Venus sextile (5:34 AM) that should have most of us getting up on the right side of the bed this morning.

Early this afternoon the Leo Moon opposes Jupiter (12:56 AM) and Neptune (2:28 PM) so a rather dreamy, happy-go-lucky mood dominates the day. People are in the mood to share some fun with friends and loved ones.

The Moon moves into Virgo at 9:23 PM. A late Moon/Pluto trine (11:23 PM) makes for a somewhat subdued evening. People are intense but somewhat introverted tonight.

Friday 7/24 - The Virgo Moon makes a square to Mars in Gemini (11:44 AM), critical, cranky and high strung. Try to keep that inner argument down to a dull roar. Gemini Mars wants to get going but Virgo Moon has a long to-do list that needs to be taken care of first, hence the frustration.

Saturday 7/25 - It's a radical Saturday. People are letting their weirdness hang out. Flaunting it, even. So do your own thing, with style. The Virgo Moon squares Venus (11:01 AM) and opposes Uranus (5:14 PM), making what is called a "t-square". Break away from your usual routine and try something different today. Be flexible though because the Moon/Uranus opposition may signal an unexpected change of plans.

The Moon enters Libra at 11:25 PM.

Sunday 7/26 - This is a charming day. The Sun and Moon make an early morning sextile (5:42 AM) so things get off to a pleasant, harmonious start.

The energy really picks up later this afternoon when the Moon trines Gemini Mars (5:24 PM). People are in the mood to socialize and this is a great evening for a party. Gemini Venus trines Jupiter in Aquarius (10:07 PM) later tonight so relax, luxuriate, indulge and have fun. This can be a rather lazy alignment but the afternoon's Moon/Mars trine gave the motivation needed to get out and get going. Venus/Jupiter wants to spend money, making this is a great aspect for retail sales but it sure is tough on the budget.

* All times are MDT (Mountain Daylight Time). For EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) add two hours. All aspects in bold are major influences that are in effect for several days. The Moon's daily aspects are rapidly shifting influences that are in effect for only a few hours.

 Mon July 27th - Sun Aug 2nd

Monday 7/27 - Its an amazing day, especially this evening when the Libra Moon makes a grand trine with Venus in Gemini (8:36 PM) and Jupiter (6:28 PM) and Neptune (8:54 PM) in Aquarius. Sweet, sweet, sweet. Open-hearted, kind, caring and compassionate without being sappy or overly emotional since it's in the intellectual air signs. People want to share good times with friends and family. This is very social, inspirational and artful. The core of this is yesterday's Venus/Jupiter trine and tonight's Venus/Neptune trine (11:52 PM). Venus/Neptune is very empathic, finely tuned to emotional nuance and concerned about others well being. Art, natural beauty and music are more deeply experienced under this influence.

Tuesday 7/28 - The Moon enters Scorpio at 4:56 AM.

A Moon/Pluto sextile (7:03 AM) has people intently focused on accomplishing a specific goal today.

This afternoon is rather a wild card as Venus squares Uranus (2:39 PM). It can be fun and exciting or a bit over the top. People want to be free to express themselves and can act erratically, doing and saying unexpected things. Interesting people come out of the woodwork, especially women who inspire through their free-wheeling lifestyle.

Wednesday 7/29 - Today is more grounded and sober minded. A Moon/Saturn sextile (5:03 PM) will have people working over-time trying to get something accomplished this week, as many may be looking at another extended weekend of recreation.

Thursday 7/30 - The mood is light-hearted and optimistic as Mercury in Leo opposes Jupiter (4:38 AM). People don't want to be bothered with niggling details or the bottom line. This is the time to look at the big picture, favoring an expansive worldview. Watch out for a tendency toward grandiosity and try and remember your budget. Much of this is influencing us while we sleep so expect to wake up feeling great, with an extra bounce in your step when you get out of bed this morning. Dreams may be so compelling that it's hard to actually get going (Moon square Neptune at 5:30 AM) until a Moon/Uranus trine (6:54 AM) finally rousts us out of bed. The morning is the best part of this day.

The Moon enters Sagittarius at 2:10 PM.

Friday 7/31 - People are looking at the world through rose-colored glasses today. The view may be hazy but it sure is soothing and pleasant. Communications can go awry since we're hearing what we want to hear rather than what is actually being said. Conversely, people may be less than honest so this is not a good time to sign legal papers without taking the time to go over the fine print or to make a deal based on a handshake. Mercury opposition Neptune (1:47 AM) is best used for making art, music or meditation. The mind is focused on a different plane of experience now not on mundane reality.

The morning is harmonious but things get a little edgy later this afternoon when the Moon opposes Mars (5:21 PM). It's Friday and people want to relax and let their hair down. If circumstances don't allow this (money, time, other obligations, etc.) they'll give vent to their frustrations by being snappish and impatient.

Venus enters Cancer at 7:28 PM. The restlessness of Venus in Gemini is subdued as people are more interested in home, family and personal security while Venus is in the sign of the Crab (7/31-8/26).

Saturday 8/01 - The morning gets off to a slow start as a Moon/Saturn square (4:44 AM) has people feeling extra tired and needing to sleep in. By early afternoon the mood has brightened and people are full of enthusiasm and eager to get out and play (Moon sextile Jupiter at 1:27 PM).

The alignment this afternoon tends to bring out people's addictive tendencies. People are falling off the wagon left and right and their driving shows it. Drive defensively while the Moon squares erratic Uranus (6:31 PM) as people are getting an early start on the evening's celebrations. Venus opposition Pluto (5:34 PM) indicates potential fatalities.

Things even out later tonight when the Moon trines Mercury (11:42 PM) and the roads are much safer now. I guess all the partiers are too comatose to get behind the wheel by now.

Sunday 8/02 - The Moon moves into Capricorn at 2:08 AM. It's a low key, family oriented day. People are mostly interested in puttering around the homestead.

Mercury enters Virgo at 5:07 PM. Mercury in Virgo (8/02-8/25) is analytical and detail oriented. This is a good time for tackling almost any task that requires precision, focus and organization.

* All times are MDT (Mountain Daylight Time). For EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) add two hours. All aspects in bold are major influences that are in effect for several days. The Moon's daily aspects are rapidly shifting influences that are in effect for only a few hours.
