 Mon Dec 28th - Sun Jan 3rd

Monday 12/28 - There's an alert and active energy that wakes us up before dawn as the Moon sextiles Uranus (6:15 AM). But after that first cuppa and a bit of rustling around people are ready to go back to bed again and extend the vacation for one more day as the Taurus Moon squares Neptune (8:49 AM) and Jupiter (10:54 AM). You may have to put in an appearance at the office but don't expect to get much done. It's a lazy, laid back day.

The Moon enters Gemini at 6:13 PM.

Tonight's Venus square Saturn (11:55 PM) is part of an alignment that has tinged the holiday with a bittersweet, bluesy undercurrent of emotion. Its effect is still evident tomorrow.

Tuesday 12/29 -

There's not much going on today astrologically speaking. It's a quiet day.

Wednesday 12/30 - Things are hectic this morning as the day gets underway with a Moon/Uranus square (8:30 AM). People are running around in circles trying to find where they left their brains. Well, at least it gets the blood circulating.

The lively Gemini Moon makes a series of soothing trines to Neptune (10:56 AM) and Jupiter (1:29 PM). The mood is relaxed and friendly. People are focused on the positive, feeling generous and agreeable. This is a great day for a lunch date with a friend.

The Moon moves into Cancer at 7:45 PM.

There are some difficult energies in play late tonight (Wed night/Thurs AM) as the Moon opposes Pluto (1:03 AM) and squares Saturn (2:59 AM). Sleeping through this is optimal, though dreams may reflect feelings of sadness and loss.

Thursday 12/31 - It's New Years Eve and the Moon is Full in 10 degrees of Cancer (12:13 PM). The Full Moon adds to this holiday's already hyper tendencies. Full Moon in Cancer is, by nature, very emotional.

The lineup is Pluto, Venus, Sun, Mercury and North Node in Capricorn opposition the Moon and t-square to Saturn in Libra. This is highlighting the difficult emotional themes of the holiday and, if you've been sitting on your feelings, they'll probably come welling up today. The crux of it all is the Saturn/Pluto square and the restrictions and oppressive conditions it imposes.

Friday 01/01 - Happy New Year.

It's a sci-fi movie and we're living in the future. . . it's 2010!

Celebrations must have been rather subdued last night as people are actually awake and functioning as the Cancer Moon sextiles Uranus (8:43 AM). Looks like there's something interesting to do this morning lending an added incentive to get up and get going.

The Moon enters Leo at 7:41 PM.

Saturday 01/02 - Another quiet day, with little going on with the planets. Then there's a late night burst of energy as the Moon conjuncts Mars in Leo (1:07 AM). Nothing all day and suddenly a party at midnight?

Sunday 01/03 - It's a relaxing day. The Leo Moon opposes Neptune (11:13 AM) and Jupiter (2:55 PM) so the mood is playful and cheery. Time for some recreation. Go out and play!

* All times are MDT (Mountain Daylight Time). For EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) add two hours. All aspects in bold are major influences that are in effect for several days. The Moon's daily aspects are rapidly shifting influences that are in effect for only a few hours.

  Mon Jan 4th - Sun Jan 10th

Monday 01/04 - It's a busy Monday. The Sun conjuncts Mercury (12:06 PM) around noon so there are lots of phone calls to make and return as we catch up with ourselves after the holidays. People are in a good mood this evening as the Virgo Moon trines Venus (5:05 PM), Mercury (6:50 PM) and the Sun (8:01 PM). The focus is on the practical but the mode is kind and helpful.

Tuesday 01/05 - Today's Mercury/Venus conjunction (3:39 AM) adds flair to Capricorn's somewhat overly blunt delivery. Venus sweetens Mercury in Cap's reserved style, warming things up a bit. Together, Mercury and Venus have a good eye for design, color and proportion.

The pace picks up by midmorning and things get positively hectic as the Moon opposes Uranus (10:24 AM). People are erratic and disorganized. It's hard getting back in gear after the holidays.

The Moon enters Libra at 9:58 PM.

Wednesday 01/06 - Difficult aspects during the early morning hours make for restless sleep and stressful dreams (the Moon squares Pluto at 4 AM and conjuncts Saturn at 5:54 AM) so people are not waking up in a very good mood this morning. It takes a while to shake off the blues and get going. By the end of the day people are ready to talk about their worries and concerns (Moon square Mercury at 5:40 PM). It helps to share.

Thursday 01/07 - We must be working things out on the dream plane these days. There's a lot going on while we sleep (Moon square Venus at 1:35 AM, square the Sun at 3:39 AM and sextile Mars at 4:34 AM). At least today we wake up feeling rested and ready for a new day.

This evening the mood is relaxed and loving as the Libra Moon trines Neptune (5:35 PM) and Jupiter (11:07 PM).

Friday 01/08 - The Moon moves into Scorpio at 3 AM.

This morning people are quietly and persistently focused on achieving some goal (Moon sextile Pluto at 9:33 AM).

Tonight a Moon/Mercury sextile (7:26 PM) brings a more social and talkative mood though certain opinions being expressed are rather strange, to say the least.

Saturday 01/09 - There's an irritable and temperamental tendency as a Moon/Mars square (10:24 AM) gets things off to a rather grouchy start. Perhaps because there's just too much to do and not enough time to do it all.

The mood lightens up this afternoon when the Moon sextiles Venus (2:17 PM) and then the Sun (3:16 PM). It's time for some recreation and relaxation. It is the weekend after all.

Tonight looks interesting, even exciting, as the Moon trines restless Uranus (10:28 PM).

Sunday 01/10 - It's a lazy day. Last night must have turned into a late one and it's hard to get going this morning (Moon square Jupiter at 8:02 AM). Time to rest and recharge.

The Moon enters Sagittarius at 11:10 AM.

This evening we finally pull it together, get focused and back to work on whatever that project was that was so consuming earlier this week (Moon sextile Saturn at 8:07 PM).

* All times are MST (Mountain Standard Time). For EST (Eastern Standard Time) add two hours. All aspects in bold are major influences that are in effect for several days. The Moon's daily aspects are rapidly shifting influences that are in effect for only a few hours.

 Mon Jan 11th - Sun Jan 17th

Monday 01/11 - The Sun conjuncts Venus in 21 degrees Capricorn (2:05 PM). The Capricorns among us should be shining brightly now as the Sun and Venus have them looking their charming best. This conjunction puts special focus on social position and recognition in the arts. Capricorn has a lot of ambition and the Sun/Venus combo gives you an opening to make headway now.

Later today a Moon/Mars trine (6:48 PM) in the fire signs (Sag and Leo) inspires enthusiasm for an active evening.

Tuesday 01/12 - It's a hectic morning. Moon square Uranus (8:52 AM) may be frustrating and accident-prone. Machinery, especially cars, can have problems at moments like this and things do not go as planned.

Ruffled feathers are soothed by noon when the Moon sextiles Neptune (11:53 AM) and Jupiter (7:43 PM) so the rest of the day is calm, positive and outgoing. The Moon/Jupiter sextile makes this a good evening for a bit of socializing, maybe even a celebration is called for.

The Moon moves into Capricorn at 9:54 PM.

Wednesday 01/13 - It's a dynamic day. Energy has been building since late last night when Venus (2:49 AM) sextiled Uranus. This exciting combo creates interesting and unusual circumstances with fun parties and fascinating people coming out to play.

Contrarily, the morning gets off to a late start as a Moon/Saturn square (7:10 AM) has people feeling low energy and sluggish. Negativity and depression are triggered by a Moon/Mercury conjunction (9:35 AM) that is keying into the Saturn/Pluto square. So, what does this mean? Party last night and hangover this morning? Manic highs and lows? Blood sugar imbalance? Certainly, it is a day full of contradictions. People will experience one side of this more than the other depending on how it sets off your own personal astrology.

Saturn goes into its yearly retrograde cycle (8:58 AM).

Later this morning the Sun joins Venus in its sextile to Uranus (11:43 AM) so there's change in the wind. Sun/Uranus facilitates progress and changes come more easily now. There's a strong drive for more personal freedom and creative expression and people are willing to take chances to achieve this.

Thursday 01/14 - Usually the period just before the New Moon is quiet and inwardly focused but with all the Uranian energy in play that is not the case right now. Though the day is relatively uneventful, it's another rocking evening as the Moon sextiles Uranus (9:09 PM). Uranus is a very mental energy, sometimes called the higher octave of Mercury, and for those not given to partying, all this Uranian influence may have you up late brainstorming, working on some exciting new idea or project.

Friday 01/15 - Just after midnight the Moon is New in 25 degrees Capricorn (12:11 AM). This New Moon occurs right on top of Venus, emphasizing the Sun/Venus forecast that started this week (read Monday).

Mercury goes direct (9:52 AM). Don't expect the typical Mercury retrograde obstacles to clear up right away. Mercury pauses as it goes direct and it is now very close to Pluto and its square to Saturn. If anything Mercury going direct brings a more conscious confrontation with Saturn/Pluto and the issues it represents. Saturn will be making its second square to Pluto on January 31st so all this is coming right up.

The Moon enters Aquarius at 10:17 AM.

Saturday 01/16 - The afternoon is busy, too busy. People get temperamental and snappish trying to cover all their commitments as the Moon opposes Mars (4:13 PM). Try not to put things off until the last minute as unexpected obstacles may arise.

Sunday 01/17 - It's a dreamy day, time to rest and recuperate from a wild week. Not much gets accomplished now, except maybe a good sleep, a long hot bath and a bit of daydreaming. The Moon conjuncts Neptune early this afternoon (1:23 PM) and Jupiter at 11:22 PM, This is a good time to set some goals for the new year and contemplate the changes you would like to make in your life.

Jupiter moves into Pisces (7:11 PM). After spending a year in Aquarius, Jupiter will move through Pisces rather quickly. By early June, Jupiter will already be entering Aries where it joins up with Uranus. Uranus goes into Aries on May 27th after spending approximately 7 years in Pisces. Jupiter and Uranus will be moving in tandem for a while. Their conjunction is one of the signature aspects of 2010, just as Jupiter/Neptune was a hallmark of 2009.

They move a little way into Aries then both planets go into retrograde and move back into Pisces together, so those with birthdays at the end of Pisces will get an extra boost from this dynamic duo.

Just as Jupiter was magnifying the mystical qualities of Neptune last year, it will soon be amplifying Uranus. The keyword that comes to mind for Uranus is change. Though we've been dealing with lots of changes this past decade, hold on to your hat. Summer 2010 will bring an accelerated rate of change. More on this later.

In the meantime, we get to enjoy the soothing qualities of Jupiter in Pisces. Compassion and kindness are some of the wonderful characteristics associated with Pisces Jupiter. Jupiter in Pisces is in many ways similar to Jupiter and Neptune conjunct, so we get a bit of an extension of that energy, at least until Jupiter meets up with Uranus this summer.

For Pisces, Jupiter's passage through your sign brings a time of opportunity and recognition. It marks the beginning of a new 12-year cycle of endeavor. Pay attention to the opportunities that come your way now. Rise to the occasion. Don't put things on hold while you make up your mind. These offers will not wait around indefinitely.

 Mon Jan 18th - Sun Jan 24th

Monday 01/18 - This week's astrological line up indicates a focus on discipline, dedication and perseverance. It's a rather low key and nose-to-the-grindstone type of energy but you can get a lot accomplished now.

The morning starts off with the Pisces Moon making a sextile to Pluto so the mood is quiet but determined. Things liven up around noon when a Moon/Mercury sextile (11:48 PM) opens the lines of communication and kicks our brains into gear.

There's a shift in the energy as Venus enters Aquarius (7:35 AM) today and the Sun tomorrow. A sense of camaraderie and joint purpose helps energize and motivate us. Touch base with friends and colleagues with whom you share a common goal or outlook.

Tuesday 01/19 - The Sun enters Aquarius (9:28 PM).

The natives are restless tonight as a late Moon/Uranus conjunction (11:06 PM) has this feeling more like the weekend than a Tuesday night. It may be hard to get to sleep as this wild energy has our minds spinning with ideas and inspirations or anxieties and concerns.

Wednesday 01/20 - The Moon enters Aries at 11:54 AM, warming the day and our spirits. The energy is lively and enthusiastic. The Moon sextiles the Sun (12:54 PM) and Venus (5:37 PM) both freshly in Aquarius so people are eager for contact and accord.

There's a radical shift after sunset when the Aries Moon squares Pluto (7:32 PM) and opposes Saturn (8:42 PM). Where we had agreement earlier, suddenly there's discord, anger and dissension. Keep a low profile tonight and postpone any social engagements until another evening.

Thursday 01/21 - It's an active day. People are full of energy and motivation as the Aries Moon trines Mars in Leo (1:02 PM). Some acknowledgement or a token of appreciation will bring out the best in folks.

Venus trine Saturn (11:07 PM) means there are demanding or difficult circumstances to be overcome. Venus/Saturn can be very loyal and dedicated. Old friends may suddenly show up or get in contact.

Friday 01/22 - It's a lovely day but not much gets done. People are getting a jump on the weekend, relaxing after a busy week. A Moon/Neptune sextile (12:47 PM) is calming but not particularly motivated.

The Moon enters Taurus at (9:39 PM) and quickly moves into a sextile to Jupiter in Pisces (11:51 PM). Feelings of satisfaction, gratitude and an easy enjoyment of life make this a very pleasant night.

Saturday 01/23 - The morning is easy-going and friendly. People are in the mood for a little luxury. Do something nice for yourself but watch your budget. The Taurus Moon squares Venus (9:36 AM) and there's a tendency to overspend but otherwise this is a very enjoyable aspect.

The afternoon is social and communication is favored as the Moon trines Mercury (3:07 PM). As this occurs in earth signs (Taurus and Capricorn) business contacts and practical planning are at the top of the list today.

There's a bit of an inner argument this evening as to whether to stay home and take it easy or go out and visit. Since the Moon is squaring Mars (8:03 PM) someone is going to be unhappy no matter what the decision. Its probably better if everyone just does their own thing tonight.

Sunday 01/24 - The mood is somewhat sober and subdued today as the Sun trines Saturn (8:37 AM). It looks like practical concerns loom large and this day is devoted to taking care of business.

The energy level picks up around sunset as the Moon sextiles restless Uranus (5:25 PM). Get out for a bit of fun before the weekend is over. After spending the day on chores, it's time for some diversion.

* All times are MST (Mountain Standard Time). For EST (Eastern Standard Time) add two hours. All aspects in bold are major influences that are in effect for several days. The Moon's daily aspects are rapidly shifting influences that are in effect for only a few hours.

 Mon Jan 25th - Sun Jan 31st

Monday 01/25 - The Moon entered Gemini at 4:11 AM.

The Gemini Moon makes a grand trine in air signs with Saturn in Libra (12:04 PM) and the Sun (2:17 PM) and Venus (8:37 PM) in Aquarius. With Saturn in the mix the social energy indicated here is more subdued and sober. Friends and social networking are important today.

A Moon/Mars sextile (11:35 PM) provides extra energy tonight, which looks like it could be a late one.

Tuesday 01/26 - The major aspects all happen later on today so the daylight hours look relatively uneventful.

Tonight's Venus/Mars opposition (10:29 PM) creates disunity and strife, especially between the sexes. People are not getting what they want, want different things and cannot agree. This atmosphere of dissension is spread across the week as the Sun is heading into an opposition to Mars on Friday.

A soothing Moon/Neptune trine (11:33 PM) calms things for the moment, sublimating emotions that will probably erupt later in the week.

Wednesday 01/27 - The Moon enters Cancer at 7:01 AM.

A healing and comforting energy lightens the morning as the Cancer Moon trines Jupiter in Pisces (10:36 AM). There's a spiritual dimension here that nurtures and strengthens us for the rest of the day.

There are challenges this afternoon as the Moon triggers the on-going Saturn/Pluto square when it opposes Pluto (1:56 PM) and squares Saturn (2:20 PM). For those already buffeted by Saturn/Pluto this will be very trying.

Thursday 01/28 - It's one of those mornings when you wake up early with lots on your mind. The day's busyness, chores and anxieties pop into your consciousness before you're even awake as the Moon opposes Mercury (5:21 AM) early on.

The evening is active and interesting as a Moon/Uranus trine (9:48 PM) keeps things hopping until almost midnight. Besides which, the Moon is almost full so that lunar energy has us up howling with the coyotes.

Friday 01/29 - The Moon enters Leo at 7:10 AM.

The Sun opposes Mars (12:43 PM) indicating stresses and strains. People are pushing hard for results. Insistence and urgency will bring conflict with those who perceive your manner to be pushy and demanding. Try to include others rather than coerce them. Emotions are volatile as we head toward a Moon/Mars conjunction (10:20 PM).

The Moon is Full in 10 degrees Leo at 11:18 PM. The Full Moon falls right on top of this week's Venus/Mars opposition bringing any incipient conflicts to the fore. People are passionately emotional now. Is this really the best time to talk things over or is someone trying to provoke a confrontation?

Saturday 01/30 - There's a conciliatory mood today. Time to kiss and make up. Maybe apologize for a tantrum? Will apologizing let you off the hook for consequences? Probably not. Everything is heightened and intensified by tomorrow's Saturn/Pluto square so there's a tendency to over react, even though people would really prefer to make peace. The Leo Moon opposes Venus at 6:49 AM and Neptune at 11:27 PM.

Sunday 01/31 - The Moon moves into Virgo (6:23 AM) and an opposition to Jupiter (11:19 AM), making this a good time to focus on small chores around the house. The mood is quiet and comfortably homey.

A Moon/Pluto trine (1:16 PM) helps us confront the challenges resulting from today's Saturn/Pluto square (3:07 PM). Saturn square Pluto is an important aspect that is in effect from November 2009 through August of 2010. Saturn aspects Pluto every seven or eight years so, though not that unusual, it is an unpleasant alignment none-the-less. Saturn/Pluto is very authoritarian and presents circumstances where freedom is limited and choice curtailed. (i.e. Supreme Court ruling on corporate free speech).

The last big Saturn/Pluto alignment was the opposition back in 2001. It was the hallmark of the 9/11 attack on the US and key to the changes that occurred in this country then. The current square is directly related to those events and acts as a challenge, testing the validity of actions taken and policies set in motion at that time.

Personally, Saturn/Pluto feels very oppressive and limiting as we confront circumstances beyond our control and/or old restrictive attitudes that are keeping us stuck in a certain mindset.

* All times are MST (Mountain Standard Time). For EST (Eastern Standard Time) add two hours. All aspects in bold are major influences that are in effect for several days. The Moon's daily aspects are rapidly shifting influences that are in effect for only a few hours.
