Monday 08/01 - The Moon enters Virgo at 2:42 AM.

People are in a good mood this morning as the Leo Sun squares Jupiter (8:43 AM). This is a carefree, happy-go-lucky influence. People are feeling generous and outgoing though there's a tendency toward carelessness and overestimating your chances.

Also today, the Virgo Moon makes a grand trine with Pluto in Cap (11:35 AM) and Jupiter in Taurus (5:38 PM). This is a power day and there's something almost magical about how much you can accomplish now if you put your mind to it.

Tuesday 08/02 - Mercury goes retrograde this evening at 9:50 PM. It will be in retrograde until the 26th of Aug, making this a thoughtful and introspective time.

Wednesday 08/03 - Mars enters Cancer (3:22 AM), not the best placement for Mars, which can be grumpy and overly sensitive in the sign of the Crab. Watch out for a tendency to over-react and make mountains out of molehills.

The Moon moves into Libra at 4:04 AM, setting off that rather awful t-square in cardinal signs. This sours the day, especially the morning hours.

Mars trine Neptune (4:55 AM) can be very idealistic and altruistic, impelling people to act on their best instincts for the welfare of others. On the other hand, it can also be sneaky and dishonest, resorting to subterfuge and covert methods to get it's way.

The Moon squares Mars (4:06 AM) while we sleep, so many will wake up feeling angry and out of sorts. Before noon an opposition to Uranus (11:12 AM) translates into an accident-prone impatience and sudden outbursts. After lunch, a square to Pluto (12:53 AM) evokes a smoldering resentment, especially in those that have been the target so far today. Overall, not a very nice morning.

Things do perk up later on, when the Moon makes friendly sextiles to Venus (4:57 PM) and the Sun (11:05 PM) and a lousy day turns into a lovely evening.

The Moon conjuncts Saturn (12:53 AM) after midnight and the days troubles are reflected in our dreams. Getting too tired can make it hard to get to sleep at all.

Thursday 08/04 - It's a busy brain day as Mercury sextiles Mars (5:20 PM). This is a talkative and outgoing aspect, ready for debate and delivering its ideas in a forceful and convincing manner.

Neptune retrogrades back into Aquarius (9:11 PM) for a final visit.

The shopping aspect, Venus square Jupiter (10:34 PM) has people eager to spend money on the small (or large) indulgences that make life so much more enjoyable. It's a good day for retail.

Friday 08/05 - The Moon enters Scorpio at 5:58 AM.

The pace slows down as the Sun sextiles Saturn (4:47 AM). Duty and responsibility are the priority today and over the weekend. It's taking care of business time.

Communication is key to getting this day on track and on schedule. The Moon triggers yesterday's Mercury/Mars sextile and the phone starts ringing early.

Tonight, it's time to party as the Moon highlights yesterday's Venus/Jupiter square. Ah, the good life.

Saturday 08/06 - Saturday is relatively quiet except for a bit of inner conflict as to whether or not to go out or to hide out.

Sunday 08/07 - It's a spacey little morning. The Moon t-squares Mercury (9:15 AM) and Neptune (9:54 AM) so the main motivation is to take it slow and easy and enjoy.

Retrograde Mercury is moving back into opposition with Neptune and some major deceit, scam or rip-off is in process. Could it be the great rip-off of the American people that's now under way?

The Moon moves into Sag at 9:21 AM.

Things get interesting this afternoon when the Moon trines Uranus (4:45 PM) and people finally get the energy to get out and get moving.

Venus sextile Saturn (8:19 PM) is subdued and sober, ready to take a long hard look at the realities of life. This aspect is not a lot of fun but it will often show you who your real friends are .

This is a very accident-prone week. The combination of Mercury's spaced-out opposition to Neptune and Mars making some very angry and impatient aspects is a fatal mixture of poor judgement and hasty action. Slow down there, partner!

Monday 08/08 - Mercury's recent retrograde takes it back into Leo (3:46 AM). This retrograde period will prolong Mercury's opposition to Neptune, making it a key influence through early Sept.

Mercury opposes Neptune (8:27 AM) this morning so its hard to get going. People feel groggy and vaguely confused so this isn't going to be a time for peak performance. Take it easy and don't make any major decisions, especially anything having to do with business or finance. Mercury/Neptune is good for creativity, music and meditation. On the negative side, prevailing delusion and dishonesty make it hard to discern who is lying and who isn't. Mercury's prolonged opposition to Neptune indicates some major scam or rip-off is now underway.

It is a sweet morning though, as the Sagittarius Moon trines Venus (9:13 AM) and the Sun (1:22 PM), so why not clear out that busy schedule and just relax and enjoy. That will actually be more efficient than trying to clean up all the mistakes that will get made today by trying to conduct business as usual.

Tuesday 08/09 - Well, we may still be feeling confused and disoriented but that doesn't stop many from jumping into action. It may be wrong-headed or ill-advised but people are on a tear and the fur is flying. Mars squares Uranus (10:34 AM) and the action is fast and furious. Tempers are short, people are impatient and machinery tends to break down. If it's not working, don't force it or it will break. And running that red light is an even worse idea than usual. Don't push your luck.

This afternoon the tone is gentle and reasonable, maybe also naïve and overly idealistic, as the Moon trines Mercury (1:20 PM) and sextiles Neptune (2:25 PM) but tonight the heat is on.

Mars in Cancer is activating that toxic t-square in the cardinal signs and the world goes crazy, like it did this spring with all the Arab uprisings and environmental disasters. The focus is different now as we face an economic melt-down of historic proportions.

The Moon moves into Capricorn at 2:38 PM and acts as a trigger for an explosion all ready and set to detonate. The Moon squares Uranus at 10:15 PM, opposes Mars at 10:51 PM and conjuncts Pluto at 12:06 PM. I highly recommend avoiding angry people and staying home tonight.

Wednesday 08/10 - Today is a bit of a roller coaster, first we're up and then we're down. It's a pleasant morning and things seem to stabilize as the Capricorn Moon trines Jupiter in Taurus (8:17 AM) but by mid afternoon we're on the opposite pole as the Moon moves into a depressing square to Saturn (2:34 PM).

Tonight's Mars/Pluto opposition (11:12 PM) is a very explosive and ruthless aspect. Under this influence some people will go to any lengths to make a point or get their way. When aspects happen in the middle of the night like this, they often represent events on the other side of the world, since they're awake while we're asleep.

Thursday 08/11 - There are no major lunar aspects today. There's enough going on already this week to give us plenty to deal with. The Moon moves into Aquarus at 9:47 PM .

Friday 08/12 - It looks like things are settling down. There will be long term consequences from this week's events but right now people are in the mood to cut this week short and move into the weekend as rapidly as possible.

The Moon sextiles Uranus early this morning (5:32 AM) so many have decided, before they're even out of bed, to skip out on today's obligations. It will be easier than you think since everyone else wants to take a pass too.

It's a friendly afternoon, a little on the self-indulgent side, as the Moon squares Jupiter (4:20 PM). Happy hour starts early.

Tonight is quiet, rather subdued. There's really not much of a party mood.

Saturday 08/13 - The Moon is Full in 20 degrees of Aquarius at 12:57 PM. This Full Moon emphasizes the Mercury/Neptune opposition so people just want to escape into their own private worlds and forget all the craziness. One of the things that Mercury/Neptune aspects are really good for is prayer. At times like this prayer and ceremony may be the most effective tools we have, much more potent than our culture realizes.

Sunday 08/14 - It's a sleepy morning, full of interesting dreams, as the Moon conjuncts otherworldly Neptune (6:26 AM). Even the early-risers are sleeping in today.

The Moon moves into Pisces at 6:54 AM.

Much later, the day finally comes into focus and gets into gear when the Moon sextiles Pluto (4:54 PM) and trines Mars (10:07 PM). Maybe it's the heat, but most of today's action happens after the sun goes down.

Monday 08/15 - It's a relatively quiet day. The Moon in Pisces makes a midnight sextile to Jupiter (2:21 AM, actually), indicating a restful night's sleep but there's not much happening during the day.

Tuesday 08/16 - Wow! There's quite a line-up today as the Sun, Venus and Mercury are all conjunct in 23 degrees of Leo. The Sun conjuncts Venus at 6:08 AM and Mercury at 7:04 PM. Mercury and Venus conjunct at 5:21 PM. This is a lot of fiery intensity but the planets involved are benign, bringing out the happy, generous, playful side of Leo. Looks like it's time to party, one last hurrah before school starts and the summer begins to wind down. Be in the moment and enjoy life now.

The Moon enters Aries at 6:01 PM.

Wednesday 08/17 - Last night could have been a late one (Moon conjunct Uranus at 2:03 AM) and it looks like we're paying the dues for that today.

Wednesday is rather volatile as the Aries Moon makes a series of difficult aspects. The day starts out grouchy and just doesn't get much better. Early this afternoon a square to Mars in Cancer (1:11 PM) has people feeling snappish and impatient.

Tonight the energy level tanks when the Moon moves into an opposition to Saturn (9:47 PM) and that tired feeling sets in. An early bedtime looks like the best way to deal with an impending case of the blues.

Thursday 08/18 - The mood is back in the positive zone today. People are feeling happy and re-energized. A Mars/Jupiter sextile (10:51 AM) produces a fantastic burst of energy and optimism and the Aries Moon brings out the best in Tuesday's Leo line-up. The Moon trines Mercury (3:02 PM), the Sun (10:13 PM) and Venus (11:53 PM), so from mid afternoon until late at night a party mood prevails. Get together with friends and enjoy a wonderful evening.

Friday 08/19 - A sleepy mood has people moving slowly this morning as the Moon sextiles Neptune (5:50 AM). Hug your pillow just a little bit longer and linger in dreamland for a while.

This afternoon things get more focused and organized when the Moon trines Pluto in Capricorn (4:53 PM), a little late for the work week but maybe we're doing a little moonlighting tonight.

Saturday 08/20 - The Moon conjuncted Jupiter in the wee hours of the morning (3:14 AM). This mellow, amiable alignment is lazy and laid back but full of good feeling and an abundant sensuality. People wake up feeling happy and content this morning.

Even if it was a late night, this morning is off to an early start as the Moon sextiles active Mars at 5:27 AM.

Sunday 08/21 - Idealistic, compassionate and very romantic, Venus opposition Neptune (7:41 AM) sees the world through rose-colored glasses, a pleasant change from recent skirmishes with the harsher realities of life.

Venus enters Virgo (4:11 PM).

The mood is rather ethereal and just gets more so as the day progresses. By the time the Moon triggers the Venus/Neptune opposition later this evening, it squares Neptune at 6:00 PM and Venus at 7:11 PM, our feet are barely touching the ground.

Monday 08/22 - Last week's Neptune influence is still going strong today as the Sun opposes Neptune (5:28 PM). More than any other planet, the Sun represents the ego, while Neptune is the anti-ego planet. Neptune represents the union of all things, an ultimate spiritual oneness. So the opposition of Sun and Neptune deflates the ego drive while making people more empathetic and capable of finding common ground with others.

Tuesday 08/23 - Sun enters Virgo (5:21 AM). Happy Birthday, Virgo!

There's a flurry of activity early this morning when the Gemini Moon sextiles Mercury (8:33 AM). The rest of the day is relatively quiet.

Wednesday 08/24 - The Moon moves into Cancer at 4:31 AM.

It's a lovely morning. The mood is homey and family oriented as the Cancer Moon sextiles the Sun (6:23 AM) and Venus (10:53) in Virgo. People are friendly and supportive.

Just before noon, the day takes a sudden left hand turn when the Moon squares Uranus (11:30), the planet of surprises. Plans change or people cancel appointments. Play it by ear. The afternoon looks a little grouchy, so do your communicating this morning.

Thursday 08/25 - Has that tired feeling been creeping up on you this week? Feel like you're beating your head against the wall as you confront a series of obstacles? It's Mars square Saturn (4:48 AM). Mars moves more slowly than Venus and Mercury so it's aspects linger several days longer. Instead of being over in three days, Mars aspects are usually in effect for six or seven days.

Mars/Saturn brings difficult circumstances and difficult people. Seemingly simple tasks require extra time, energy and patience. Energy levels are low and yet extra effort is required. All this is triggered this morning when the Moon squares Saturn (6:59 AM), so don't expect much to get accomplished today. As there's a simultaneous Moon/Mars conjunction (7:04 AM) frustrations are likely to flare into confrontations. It's better to accept that it just isn't going to happen today and maybe not tomorrow either.

This afternoon Venus trines Pluto (5:12 PM). Venus/Pluto indicates a passionate emotional nature, an all-or-nothing approach to affairs of the heart that is prone to feelings of abandonment and betrayal. The trine can bring out the best in any alignment, for Venus and Pluto this is about devotion, dedication and perseverance.

Friday 08/26 - The Moon enters Leo at 10:09 AM.

Communication problems begin to ease today as Mercury goes direct (4:03 PM) in 18 degrees of Leo. There's still some confusion in the air as Mercury's retrograde has taken it back and forth over an opposition to Neptune. The last pass isn't until Sept 8th so real clarity about any particular issue won't begin to dawn until after that date.

Mercury/Neptune is like a fond illusion or dream that we wake up from feeling a little foolish or it can be a major scam that we discover only after we've been stung.

A Moon/Uranus trine (4:31 PM) makes this an exciting afternoon. People take off early to get a jump start on the weekend.

Saturday 08/27 - We wake up feeling rested and relaxed, though there's a bit of a to-do list this morning as the Moon sextiles Saturn (11:06 AM), the taskmaster.

This afternoon it's party time. A Moon/Mercury conjunction in Leo (5:49 PM) has folks ready to socialize and have some fun.

Sunday 08/28 - It's a sleepy morning. People are moving slowly and feeling rather groggy as the Moon opposes dreamy Neptune (11:12 AM).

The Moon moves into Virgo at 12:13 PM.

The Sun trined Pluto (9:11 AM) earlier this morning but we don't really begin to feel it's determined, focused energy until this evening when a Moon/Pluto (8:17 PM) activates this forceful alignment.

The Moon is New in 5 degrees of Virgo at 9:04 PM. This New Moon makes a grand trine with Jupiter in Taurus and Pluto in Capricorn. This potent grand trine indicates an interesting month that may feature some real problem solving on the national and political arenas.

If this grand trine is effecting you personally (planets early in the earth signs), this can be a very dynamic month when a lot of progress and success are possible but to get the best out of this you have to put yourself out there.

Monday 08/29 - It's a lovely day. The Moon conjoined Venus (3:10 AM) while we slept, bringing an abundance of good feeling, so people are in a good mood this morning.

A Moon/Jupiter trine (4:58 AM) activates tonight's Venus/Jupiter trine (12:46 AM). There's a tendency to spend money now and the next couple of days could be real budget busters. Overall, there's a party-like atmosphere today. A playful and generous spirit has people focused on the bright side.

Tuesday 08/30 - Venus trines Jupiter (12:46 AM) in the earth signs (Virgo and Taurus), accentuating the sensual and materialistic side of these planets. A certain object of desire becomes irresistible and people are ready to pay the price to get what they want. When the going gets tough, people go shopping.

Jupiter begins its annual retrograde period today at 3:18 AM.

The Moon enters Libra at 12:25 PM.

Things are a little edgy and unpredictable tonight. The Moon opposes Uranus, the planet of surprises, (6:08 PM) and moves on to square Pluto (8:21 PM), so the mood gets grouchier as the evening progresses. This is a good night to lie low.

Wednesday 08/31 - Depression sets in this morning as the Moon conjuncts dreary Saturn (12:43 PM) and unpleasant realities begin to sink in. Its time to deal with consequences.

Tempers are short this evening when the Moon squares temperamental Mars (6:28 PM) and a snappish streak is in evidence. Communication eases the situation later on as the Moon moves into a sextile with Mercury (9:24 PM).

Thursday 09/01 - It's a quiet morning. The pace is slow and people are relaxed as the Moon moves toward a trine to dreamy Neptune (11:35 AM).

The Moon enters Scorpio at 12:48 PM.

Attention is more focused and goal oriented tonight (Moon sextile Pluto at 8:55 PM). It's a good time to burn the midnight oil working on a pet project.

Friday 09/02 - That optimistic mood is back in full force today as the Virgo Sun trines Jupiter in Taurus (9:59 PM). This is a good time to PR yourself. Let the world know what you have to offer.

But, basically, it's a lazy day. Folks are friendly and willing to be helpful but not very motivated (Moon sextile Venus at 1:08 PM). Most would prefer to take this day off and head into the weekend a little bit early.

Saturday 09/03 - It was a restless night (Moon square Mercury at 2:04 AM) and we're feeling rather groggy and spaced out today (Moon squares Neptune at 1:42 PM).

Tonight, people are in the mood to party as the Sagittarius Moon trines Uranus in Aries (8:58 PM). It looks like a fun and interesting evening.

Sunday 09/04 - There's some tension this morning with a push/pull between the desire to take the day off and the need to take care of business. There's time for both, so why not take the morning off for a bit of play and take care of business later on when the Moon sextiles responsible Saturn (6:17 PM)?
